Since I started mining LBC, I figured I would report that my FTW edition GTX 1070 is able to mine at +175 on the core, and this is a card that is already factory overclocked by +100

+275 over reference edition is pretty high compared to what I have been reading on the settings. Maybe I have a good core, or maybe the 10+2 power phases are working good. Figure this may be of interest to some people if LBRY profits were to soar back up or if another GPU core based coin arises.

Far as Ether, my card is no better than the majority

the strix gaming pushes to +200 without much issue, with the "automatic adjustments" keeping it stable in the 1950-2050MHz range. i leave it around +170 to get a good hashrate witout too much load

Is that the OC edition of the strix? That one is factory clocked 60mhz higher than the FTW opposed to about 80 lower.

If that is the OC edition Strix 1070 and that 200+ is in settings and not including the factory OC, than that is one powerful overclocker.

I have mine on 82% power limit right now with the temp at 61 celcius w/o any temp target intervention. +160 (+260 overall) right now. It's holding a super steady 1 volt flat and 2100 mhz flat.

ys, i think it is OC. its the lower tier of the 1070 strix cards ($20 cheaper than the other), and runs at about 2000mhz

correct - its the 8G-GAMING (not the O8G-GAMING thats a bit higher clocked). both are an OC compared to the founders cards though. Ive pushed it to 2050MHz a few times, and could probably it 2100MHz if desired, but in the interest of longevity i keep it where fans are ~60% and temps are 65-70C

I found a way to lower the memory clock much further than before for LBC mining

ASUS GPU Tweak slides the memory lower. I confirmed it by loading every other GPU monitor. Far as this extreme memory underclocking, I have not seen a very large improvement in my core clock OC. For all I know it has no effect on improving stability and I am just lucky to find out I could get away with a little more core clock OC

I can push 2150mhz stable on my GTX1070 and I was even doing 2190mhz for maybe 7 hours before the miner failed

GPU Tweak has a voltage slider that you can actually adjust for overvolting, but it does not actually work on the Pascal cards

So what is best for general mining 4x 1070 or rx 480 x 6! They are the same overall price , but which one will give better profit per watt. Could anyone state it or it is not possible to be certain?

It all depend on what you gona mine!
If its ethereum, monero its deffo better on RX 470 (modded bios)

if its LBC then you will get more on 1070

Short term, the rx series
Long term the 1070

I have both and just got a 470 and it's only 3 hash below my 480 with less watts.

May be than i build a rig with 3x1070 and 3x470 than it will cost the same! I see a rx 480 4gb 5$ more expensive than a rx 470 4gb so may be it is better to get this one or it has problems?
I have one pro btc board with six pcie slots left from my 750ti rig and i will use it for it , one dual core celeron and 4 gb ram , but the pay is 800 watts and may be it would not handle those six cards!

I adjust the core and mem freq. with msi afterburner and set the tdp with nvidia smi tool. My one card can easily overclock to 2050 Mhz with 110 watt tdp. But freq changes due to tempretures nowadays. Now it is 2025 mhz 275.50 mh on lbry with ccminer 1.8.1

It can work for one, and not for the others in the same machine. 2050 on avg with a multigpu conf it's not achievable.

If you want stability, with a good aftermarket version you can hit 2k, on avg 1950. Clocks are not stable in a multigpu environment.

Be careful with these msi, as you can see in this thread.

I think that problem isn't msi The point is knowing what you are doing with quality components... The onliest way of setting stable tdp is nvidia smi tool. Others are useless. And alsoif you use different wendors vga, placement of the cards are really important to get the best speed and tdp too.

Hey. Its been long time since i have actually mined bitcoins with my own hardware. It just became not profitable.
So i wanted to ask u guys, when i was comparing the hash power for price of the cards back then.. AMD cards always showed real nice results as compared to nVidia ones. Is it the same now or then have new processors which put nVidia card better at mining?

please shed some light on this

One worked fine for 2 weeks, but now it can only mine DCR, it fails at other algos (memory errors)

Now another problem. One caught fire yesterday night.. no OC, no overheat.. rig went down overnight, and in the morning one card has that smell.. Cry Cry Cry

Damn MSi and its sucky 1070

thanks for your answer, but no. The rig (850w PSU for 3x1070) is fine. It worked fine with other gpus. And the weird 1070, that only mine DCR (memory issues), was tried in many rigs, always doing the same.

My real problem is that i bought the 1070s while on a trip to Miami and now  i´m back at home (Argentina). I think MSi dont have international warranty, and i´ll end up sending the gpus back to USA (cost, delays,...) No fun...
