ETC ( ethereum classic )

Dont work fine with gtx 1070 and windows 10 x64 .

Have only 4 mh/s with last genoil ethminer-0.9.41-genoil-1.1.6-pre .

Use 368.81-desktop-win10-64bit-international-whql

.

but it work fine in ubuntu 14.04, 27mhs@ 130w 367.27

i remember it was 100w 27MH and 140 for 30+
It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

average of 29+ with only 110w is good, i think you can push it above 30 while maintaining the same hash/w

too bad this is not working on win 7 yet, need to wait for proper drivers

It's just one hour, to make it work in ubuntu.

mind giving a quick rundown? are you running the newest ubuntu 14? whats your minin program, and te secondary programs for monitoring power draw and overclocking?

as decent as vertcoin is, ethereum seems more profitable and less toasty

edit: would you say this is accurate? https://forum.ethereum.org/discussion/7780/gtx1070-linux-installation-and-mining-clue-goodbye-amd-welcome-nvidia-for-miners

24" PCI-E cables with 16AWG wires and stripped ends - great for server PSU mods, best prices https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=563461

that's exact manual which I used, I just left that vnc thing, compiled ethminer 1.1.7 and 1.1.6 instead of 1.1.5,
I've used old Ubuntu 14.04 LTS Desktop, so it;s not necessary to install just server version.
Also I'm not using that nvidia-settings script, and I didn't have to do that fix of hardcoded driver as well.
Use 367.27 driver.

i dont think we have any bios files for the 10xx series yet - but they are quite easy to overclock anyways. AFAIK bios files are more to enable UNDERVOLTING

manufacturers have. they supply same card with diff BIOSes with diff clocks and sells them according to flashed clocks.
that's how i flashed BIOS from higher-end model to a cheaper lower-end model and got overclocked card

- but they are quite easy to overclock anyways.
not so easy with ubuntu 16 with latest drivers / or i'm doing smthing wrong

AFAIK bios files are more to enable UNDERVOLTING
AFAIK there is no problem with overvoltage with nvidia cards as with AMD cards when some manufacturers flash crazy voltage (1.25V) by default

NV has more redefined power control then AMD, so undervolting is not so needed, also power consumption of 1xxx series are just insane good

Only problem can be a boost 3.0 which can drop clock for many reason, as power requirement, temps, voltage, even 3rd party software GPU usage as chrome in widows can make it drop boost

What do you guys think about FE GTX 1070's fan? As i understand it is sleeve bearing (which is not very durable)? Are FE's good for mining overall?

the only good thing, is that apparently they can be overclocked higher on average, they reach easily 2100, then should remain good with few cards, but with multiple one near together it may be far worse

I stumbled on this while browsing reddit hardware trade

https://www.reddit.com/r/hardwareswap/comments/4v4rvh/usafl_h_msi_gtx_1070_armor_edition_w_paypal/

MSI Armor edition being sold for 380 USD, normally a 500 USD card. I figure it might be of interest to someone here.

i thought the reviews generally found the FE to hit 80C+ at much lower fequencies tan with the aftermarkets.

I personally love the strix - its running great on lbry mining 245MH at 60% fans and 65C

Strix's fans are known to fail fast also overpriced card.

And FE's are 410USD now
