What is the best way an average user like me can help KRB grow the most?

I can't code, and I already mine KRB 24/7 with about 900H/sec power using Wolf's miner.

Is it better for me to donate KRB to bounties for development? Or to run a node? What helps the most?

I will continue to mine KRB for a very long time, but I also want to help it grow.

Right now you can help test Democats pool to find out if new version is now working correctly by redirecting your miner to http://democats.org/pool/?name=karbowanec The pool can't find the block for a day now.

Donations for development is the only way for us to pay potential developers in the future because of lack of premine so donations always welcome. So far hosting was paid by members so no donations were spent on hosting or other things except development.

Spreading the word is always helpful too.

Thank you for support.

Ok, I redirected all my hashing power to the Democats pool. I will keep it there until we find out what's going on then I will probably go back to mining on pool.karbowanec.com.

I have sent a 1,000 KRB donation to the address you have listed. I don't have any BTC or XMR to donate, but I have a lot of KRB from mining myself.
Payment ID: E0B429D8C3661EC1267ADFA13709D6BCB99EE08674CBFDEB837144D855DB4CAF
Please confirm when you have received this if possible.

I will spread the word to anyone who will listen, you seem like a great developer and I believe in this coin. I am from USA btw, California, so you have support all over the world not just in Ukraine Smiley.

If I keep the KRB wallet open all the time, is that the same as running a node, or do I have to run the node from command prompt?

Great. We want that pool to find a block and check that Forknote software is now working correctly with KRB.
So far I thing the pool gives too high difficulty, maybe max difficulty for miners should be lowered to 100 k.

I have sent a 1,000 KRB donation to the address you have listed. I don't have any BTC or XMR to donate, but I have a lot of KRB from mining myself.

Thank you again. Confirmed, 1000 KRB received, you donated 1/6 of our current funds.

It's a pleasure! As I started earlier in this thread having Ukrainian flavor doesn't mean we limit somehow world wide usage of the Karbo. We think it might be easier to push forth real world usage and adoption in community vaguely tied to specific nation or country.

If I keep the KRB wallet open all the time, is that the same as running a node, or do I have to run the node from command prompt?

GUI wallet has a node so thus you are helping the network, especially if you have open 32347 port on router so other wallets can connect to yours to download blockchain. How to do port forwarding depends on your router, for example refer to this article http://www.howtogeek.com/66214/how-to-forward-ports-on-your-router/

Attempt N2. Help us find a few blocks to see is it all fine. Don't commit big hashrate please or you risk to loose your money:
http://democats.org/pool/?name=karbowanec
Still no block. We need more hashrate there.
Unfortunately the pool difficulty is too low for Nicehash (the minimum for Nicehash is 20000).

Not much, but I point my rx480 (770 h/s) to the pool.

Block on democats is finally found. There seem to be a problem with the payouts. Your money are safe, but they will be locked until the problem is fixed

Edit: payments are working now

Fixed. You can access the karbo blockchain via the new version of Forknote now:
https://github.com/forknote/forknote/releases/tag/2.0.1
Updated config:
https://github.com/forknote/configs/blob/master/karbowanec.conf

After a huge delay i am resuming work on the web wallet. Expect it soon

Just to add, you can import your paper wallets into Forknote v2, if you saved your spend and view keys. Importing the mnemonic seed is not supported yet

This is nice.

By the way, Forknote v2 is incompatible with current GUI so if someone runs forknote daemon and launches GUI or uses GUI with remote node running Forknote binaries it won't show balance correctly because Fornknote and Bytecoin v.2 serves blockchain blocks in reverse order.

And in upcoming GUI we will use the keys, it will be possible to create and import tracking wallets that allow to see incoming transactions but not to spend funds.
Can be used for donations allowing review, or to monitor cold wallet.

We use XDN style trackign key, not Bytecoin style, just like in export/import private keys for backup.

Probably we will change that to Bytecoin style tracking key to differentiate from paperwallet and backup private keys - it looks different.
