I received a S9 from Bitmain today, and one of the hashing board doesn't appear in the S9 management page. It runs only at 2/3 hashrate , brand new out of the box ... Just opened a ticket ...
the bitmain quality is falling down when they are moved from 28nm to 16nm die ... S7 are bulldozers ... S9 are paper plane ...

March 1 delivery S9 appears to be through customs and in (or just left) Japan. Prior "Exception" disappeared.

I think my PCB board is dead, I checked my hashing boards on another S9 and they are working properly, but when I connect them to the original PCB board all the hashing boards are showing xxxx. Is there any chance to get the S9 parts with the original seller or on amazon/ebay ?

well first you need to know if the batch your miner came from was before the auto tune firmware or after. the next thing is to find out if its a post t9 miner or a pre t9 miner. either way im sure you wont have much luck finding a spare controller on ebay or amazon...your better off emailing bitmain about getting a replacement...they arent too expensive i dont think. the only way people are selling spare parts is if a miner broke and they wanna make money off the pieces that still function properly. since most s9's are still under warranty or are running fine chances are no one has had to scrap their s9 for whatever little bit of money it can get on the secondary market. you can try but why waste the time and effort? just email them and get info on a replacement controller.

Hopefully when they release a new batch the quality control will be better.

Anyone know which batches exactly have been good and problem free, and which batches are having all these issues?

Stop buying industrial miners, running them at home, and then complaining about the noise.

All batches of S9s have been problematic. That sucks. It would almost make sense that buying used miners would be the smarter move than waiting for a new batch, no? Cheaper price if used, plus you know the miner has been tested for months with no failure, whereas if you buy brand new, it could fail next month. Just the way I see things.

All batches of S9s have been problematic. that is why , i have been buying from hashnest market for about 1 years. If you have high costs , cloud mining is best solution with 7 cent/kwh electricity + all maintenance fee

Only a few minutes into my just delivered March 1 S9 - but I have to say I'm impressed with no HW errors yet. Speed seems to be settling in between 13.6-13.7 TH/s.

My 5x T9s are orderded and 2x S9 13.5s.
That'll do. My S9 13.5 is kickin' butt at around 13.6. I'm still shy a psu for the 13 that's due soon. It would almost make sense that buying used miners would be the smarter move than waiting for a new batch, no? Cheaper price if used ... I got about 1/2 price direct from manufacturer, but first time was nerve-racking. I hear every time is a little ... ... plus you know the miner has been tested for months with no failure, whereas if you buy brand new, it could fail next month. Good point. Has anyone calculated profits, ROI, total costs for Hashnest?
I have not, but I see miners as an "asset" and nesting as a "service". I imagine one could do well ... or not. The miner is always there putting out hash. Once you are done with it - usually to buy more - people sell them at a profit to people like GMPoison who may prefer knowing the miner has been tested for months, plus ships from the USA. You never know what BITMAIN is going to do. They dropped the first batch of T9s (and the last one) with zero notice. They go fast and have true value, but you may live somewhere with 0.22c KW/h of energy costs and not make a dang thing. It's up to the person.

When do we think the next batch of S9's will be released, do we think they will be cheaper or more expensive than last time, and what do we think their reliability will be like (lots of peoples S9's are dying on them currently)?
