Well why it is true that there has not been a change of the leaders like USD, Gold and now Bitcoin, but this does not make EUR, Silver and ETH unnecessary and worthless. I don't think so but who knows. Anyway ethereum - according to the guys who understand better these things - is a better crypto than bitcoin but here we are. Its value is far away from the value of bitcoin. And for more is in strong deprecation since the story of DAO.

I don't think that ETh will do even though it is on the second on the crypto that has big market cap. But I don't really think that bitcoin will ever be replaced by another crypto currency and I'm considering more that it will be replaced by digitized local currency that is inspired because of Satoshi's creation of bitcoin.

I don't think any of those altcoin/tokens can be as successful as bitcoin, they may gain some popularity for short term but on long term they will loss all those popularity.

Internet became famous just 15 years ago, smartphones in last 5, 6 years.
Bitcoin? Only in last 4-5 years.
Right now, Bitcoin is obviously the most famous virtual currency and its price is slowly going up but this can change any moment.
Someone can create even more popular virtual currency, it's possible.
Of course, if such scenario, out of habit, still many people will continue to use Bitcoin but less than before.

absolutely right, We really can't predict future. might appear a few coins that can beat the popularity bitcoin, and making bitcoin replaced . bitcoin is very good and very profitable, but, if it appears the coin that was made better than bitcoin and more profitable, maybe the coin will replace bitcoin. I guess everybody is entitled to his own opinion even if it is such a narrow minded like yours. However the price increase is such a bad indicator. There were times where Bitcoin had bad years and also the increase of some altcoins are bigger then Bitcoins if you look at it percentage wise, so other currencies are much faster growing then bitcoin.

It is well known the potential of Bitcoin, but no matter how popular it is, it will not stop other technologies from appearing. But since Bitcoin continues with a good team of developers, there is no reason to worry, because in most cases the altcoins have improvements that can be implemented in Bitcoin. The problem is that it is not very easy to reach consensus on the network for this to happen.

I guess everybody is entitled to his own opinion even if it is such a narrow minded like yours. However the price increase is such a bad indicator. There were times where Bitcoin had bad years and also the increase of some altcoins are bigger then Bitcoins if you look at it percentage wise, so other currencies are much faster growing then bitcoin.

Technology is evolving at a tremendous rate and just as bitcoin suddenly appeared and caught our attention, so is the possibility that another coin might come up and replace bitcoin, but that can only be if such coin is able to beat everything that bitcoin stands for. Basically everything that altcoins have as flashy features can be implemented in Bitcoin as well, but there is absolutely no need for that as Bitcoin is working very well. The only thing people think could be better are the confirmation times. That's why larger blocks for now is the only thing that I see as a necessary update.

Its hard to believe some other altcoin has power and community support to replace bitcoin, i dont see others altcoins worthing 0,10btc thats a 10% bitcoin, even with big potencial coins its hard to believe we will swicth into another coin, but we never know, lets think some whale group wake up and decide to pump hard some coin to cross those wall, that for me is the first step to grow and get close bitcoin.

i know thats impossible but some day ago i was being invited in a conference on the cryptocurrencys they told me about how they think that the new altcoin ( asia digicoin ) is going to increase like bitcoin and so on so there might have a chance that these can atleast reach the mark

From these several years passing bitcoin is gaining its good reputation in terms of legal transactions via internet and i don't think there's another cryptocurrency that replace with it because bitcoin price is still the leading of all cryptocurrency right now, there were some kinds of cryptocurrencies gaining reputations but they were just only an alternative source of bitcoins and not itself. For me with strong belief of bitcoin, i'd rather say no one can replace bitcoin at all but we should believe that there would be a possibility of new form of coin will be made but doesn't replace bitcoin in the near future of internet world that somewhat similar to bitcoin because freedom is always there specially more programmers were developing their skills and there is no limitatiins in competition right now on the world internet we are bound to have free will all the time.

Right now it looks impossible. If zcash cant do it with all its backing and tech advancement, i think u will need to create a new category of product to replace it. Something that solve all the same problem and many others new problems that we dont see now.
