Awesome, thank you for the update!

Looking forward to that auction house! Smiley

But the thing I am looking most forward to is this nice ingame casino! Screens look sooo nice!

We're super excited to start posting more details about the gambling games! I'd say by next week's update we should have a lot more concrete to share regarding them.

Right now it's all background work and not really flashy or interesting from an end user perspective.

Great, looking forward to it! Cheesy

Good information. I'm also looking forward to it. Already, there are people to have good faith in you. If you come up with the initial setup, it will take JWLs to go places.

Instead the chosen way was ignoring players. CPS are still sold for USD on website today, and no JWL promotions on Facebook, Forum, In-game, nor on ApexConquer or Heroes homepage. Probably not to discourage players to buy CPS with USD for as long as possible. Fair enough, it's his own server and he does what he think it's better but in my country older people use to say "if you pull too much the rope, it eventually breaks", I guess in english it's "to push one's luck too far" or something like that.

I think you are jumping the gun and drawing conclusions a bit quick.

My understanding is that
1) Apex: no changes to game economy, JWL added as an additional payment method. I wasn't aware of there being a premium currency called "CPS" but I don't see why that would be a problem. All that Chris needs to do is to allow JWL to buy CPS, everything else being done with CPS. That way current players of Apex are not impacted at all. They have one more option to buy CPS. That's all. So long as JWL doesn't allow to buy things that CPS can't, I don't see how that would be a problem. In that case, that explains why Chris doesn't annoy his non-techie non-crypto-geek players with the JWL news: if it's just yet-another-payment-method to them, that is not very news worthy (at least as far as Apex is concerned).
2) Heroes: unlike Apex, JWL is the one and only official premium currency. But since Heroes hasn't been launched yet, there is no-one with entrenched interests that would be displaced by this plan, so I don't see any problem. Players from Apex who will move to Heroes will just figure that CPS was renamed JWL and has a somewhat difference exchange rate although in the end, the same amount of USD still allows to buy the same amount of in-game gold and items as in Apex, so nothing to be worried about.
3) Rebirth: obviously completely new thing, By then everyone and their dog will be used to dealing in JWL.

Of course, there is a need of incentive for people to move from Apex to Heroes. So Heroes should have more content, more events, more great stuff all around, so that people who are currently playing Apex decide to start playing Heroes. But in no case should Chris start to kill Apex to encourage people to move as this would be perceived as unfair. People should move because they genuinely want to, not because they are pushed to. One great way to encourage people to move would be to give them free perks on the other side. Blizzard is great at doing that. Playing Diablo? Here you go, you've got free Hearthstone cards, free Heroes of the Storm mounts, free WoW pets etc.

@pro4never: can you clarify what's the official stance about integrating JWL to Apex on top of CPS and encouraging Apex players to start playing Heroes? Will Heroes be new enough to justify dropping very advanced characters and starting over new? Do you have a way to transfer characters and items to Heroes, even if they become account bound in the process, and give some special status marker to old players in the new game to keep them loyal and satisfied?

Very curious about this too :p

Hopefully character asset transfer from game to game wont be allowed. I am only saying this because I have played many MANY mmo throughout the years and character transfers are always ok but once character assets are allowed to be transferred it begins to start to destroy a new games economy.

Sorry for not quoting directly as a bunch of people are discussing similar information. Hopefully this post will clear up some confusion.

Q: You already have a premium currency in apex, how does jewels fit in and what about past donators?
A: Apex has, for lack of a better term, a mess of a donation system. When you donate you receive a list of premium benefits based on the amount donated. This includes things such as CPs, VIP tokens, random VIP garment boxes and weapon skin points. Jewels simplifies that because it lets us simply create a jewels shop where you spend your jewels (from exchange or through paypal directly) on exactly what you want. Do you only care about getting VIP status? Great, buy just that and save the rest of your jewels for later. Want a new shiny garment? Use your jewels to get what you want rather than having to constantly min/max the system to try to get what you actually care about. This is especially relevant to those who want cosmetics but don't need further in-game equipment. Their characters may be 'finished' but they still want cosmetics. They have no use for the CPs they get from donating and so the new system lets them focus on what they actually care about - garments or weapon skins.

Q: How does apex translate into heroes?
A: They are seperate projects. We will not be offering any character, item or currency transfer between them. Heroes is a VERY different game in terms of economy, rates and features. We're aware many apex players will fancy the change of pace and will join it but offering direct translation would heavily hurt the project both from a financial standpoint but more importantly from a gameplay standpoint. People want a fresh start, they dont want to compete with year+ old characters who transferred on day 1 to dominate anyone. It would be very un-wise for us to do anything like that.

Q: How will people react to jewels being added ontop of other premium currencies?
A: In the official game, CPs are a 'premium' currency and are virtually only available by spending money. That is not the case in our games. While our donation packages with apex DO include some CPs, it's a small amount of the actual rewards you get (if you wanted CP, you'd get more selling the VIP tokens you get to other players than you would from donating directly). Jewels simply revamps how the donation packages work and make it more user friendly to players. There may be a small amount of initial confusion but that's one of the reason we're tailoring the jewels shop directly to heroes so that it can be there from day 1 for players joining that project. In regards to apex it will have a more limited scope (because there are less things we can/will sell there) and will simply allow people to spend jewels on the same donation options we already offer there, just in a more user friendly way.

Q: I can't wait for the auction house!!!
A: The auction house is something we're looking forward to creating. It will NOT be part of apex and is intended for launch in heroes within the coming months. It will not be in the near future though. A good estimate would be about 3 months for the auction house. Our priority first and foremost has to be initial use cases which means the jewels web portal, jewels game shop and the jewels gambling games. Once those are launched (or nearing completion) the auction house will move up in the priority list and will begin testing. This doesn't mean you'll have to wait for then for peer2peer jewel trades though. You can of course trade jewels in-game using traditional methods but the auction house will definitely be a huge improvement in scope and user experience in regards to player merchants.

Just a sneak peek for everyone.
This is a new garment effect I'm currently working on. Going for a nice dark flame look although it will be a series used and will have multiple versions. Some tweaks to do still but coming along nicely!

...

The point of new game is fresh start in MMOs people love that stuff even when some BS they don't like.
Fresh servr = new people and more people so this is good.
You can even keep old one server and over few month most people will move to new one.

Looking very good. Keep up the awesome work man.

on a side note I would like to say Thank you to you and the entire coin/game dev team. Your ico was beyond successful and YOU ARE WORKING. now days that is something that just doesn't happen that much.  You could have disappeared for days/weeks/months/perm but you did not, you jumped right back into the thread and into your games. Thanks again. no one is saying it, we all bitch when that Dev disappears but rarely give credit to those who stay & continue to follow through on there roadmap & promises. We have watched many jet on a mere ico of 10 btc, let alone 336 btc. So again congratulations & thank you. keep up the awesome work.

Announcement day today. I hope they announce bittrex integration.
I hope so as well. Don't know why it is taking so long. Want to start trading JWLs, but i don't like/support Yobit..

Maybe Bittrex is playing hard to get for awhile but if they leave it to long another top exchange will snap it up.

I have to be honest, I'm not the biggest fan of Yobit but they have never done wrong by me, my withdrawals and deposits have always been near instant.

Just trade a very small amount that you can afford to lose if you choose to trade there.

Wish I could say the same about Yobit.  Unfortunately I can't.  I've been waiting 6+ months for them to update wallet code so my deposit will be available to trade Sad

I tried them out a little bit with jwl, not really good volume but deposits and withdrawals from btc or jwl have been pretty quick.  TBH faster than most exchanges.

till we are not on bittrex and project is still in 1st phase (without real volume in) you have chance for ~2000
(only people in need will sell below ICO )
later with real demand and rising platform it will be higher price and traders will front run of you.

Just a reminder tomorrow we will be on Beyond Bitcoin's hangout which starts at 10am EST and we will be discussing updates to everything since we haven't been on there since our ICO ended as we missed last week and some future plans. Next week on Beyond Bitcoin should be a treat as we'll be focusing on some more of the topics we know people are eager to hear about which is merging aspects of MMO gaming and blockchain based technology focusing on the pros and cons - what's possible, what's not, etc.

We would strongly advise that people do their best to make next weeks meeting but of course if you miss it it'll be available on Beyond Bitcoin's SoundCloud/Youtube.

Tonight we'll be temporarily disabling the website running on JewelsProject.com as we migrate our set up to our new dedicated server so you can expect some minor down time. We'll make some tweets about the status of this when we start and finish.

Hope to see you guys at tomorrows Beyond Bitcoin hangout, both Chris and I will be talking Smiley

that's not a whole lot if you consider ICO price it's like 0.5 BTC worth or so, its funny how many people invest into a project more than they can and they end up in the unfortunate scenario of selling at a loss because they're in dire need of $$... first rule of investing, only invest what you can....
