Hello there, I'm a newcomer to this forum obviously, but I've been playing with bitcoin now for a few months. I just happened to have a 5750 gpu, so I quickly put that to work making me some money. In total, I've mined a pretty good amount considering my GPU isn't spectacular and I bought some BTC just before Coinpal shut down. I'm just now starting to trade BTC. Can't wait to get out of the newbie sandbox.

Heyhey

A newbie miner here Tongue
I've been wanting a fast hash cracking rig for cracking MD5's etc for a while now. And when i learned about BTC and mining i just had to try it.
Doing about 1200Mhash/sec now on 3 machines.

I don't have to break even with hardware costs by mining because the MD5 cracking will do that Smiley
So as long as the mining brings more value then the electricity costs, the rig stays on.

The name is Herb and I have been playing with Bitcoin for about two months now. My first bitcoin was recieved from the bitcoin faucet and then I had a happy transaction with Madhatter.  Since then I have had several transactions and even set up a Dwolla account. It has been fun getting to use the bitcoin-otc and learning to use pgp and tor on the mac.

I am very much interested in alternative currencies and have been following the work of Art Brock pretty closely.

I am excited to be part of this paradigm changing community.

Hi,
I'm Bert and I've been reading this forum for about 3 weeks at this stage. I have picked up some neat tricks and though it was high time that I started to give something back, and not just take.

Hey guys, I'm Ampersand. I signed up for two reasons: Firstly, I was thinking about buying some bitcoins back when they were at about $6, as an investment, ya know? I'm now realizing I definitely should've, so now I'm jumping on the train. I'm no miner, but I feel like this would be a fun low-profit day trading type thing Tongue Secondly, a friend of mine showed me a logo contest for 15 BTC, and I've already made up some mock-ups, but I now see new members can't post in most of the forums haha.

Anywho, hope I can keep from being a bother Wink

I've been mining for about a month now, though I'm still working on bringing up all of my rigs.
