New to the process: tried to download a couple of miners but no luck. Running Windows7/XP on an AMD Sempron 3000 processor. Trying to get DiabloMiner to run, get the command window up for about 10 seconds and then it disappears...

Brutus here.  Noobaliscious all the way.

Started this weekend with DiabloMiner (most excellent work - well done) and eligius pool.

My little msi notebook with radeon 5850 mobility gets about 105 mhash with stock clock speeds.

eligius port 80 seems to throw a lot of connect errors.

Glad to be here and I am not Batman.

I've been following the bitcoin scene for quite some time but never formally introduced myself.  The name is JoJo and I'm glad to be here and get back involved.

Just going to say hallo, jumped on the bitcoin mining wagon. Still stunned by the gormless look on the faces of the lumpen that I try and tell about it. The masses take so long to catch on to great ideas that it is truely painful to behold. It's like the internet all over again.

Everyone is here for a reason. Some Bitcoin supporters believe that they can earn lots of money from the soon-to-be success whereas others just want to be part of a new and growing economy. The latter are interested in the long-term effects. However, nobody really knows where this currency stands in a week, a month or even a whole year.

I'm clearly not one of these guys who just see Bitcoins as a method to earn lots of money or even storage fiat money in a more secure way. I'm interested in the functional principles of Bitcoin. And to be honest, studying it really is exciting. If you don't belong to that group of people wanting to discover cryptography, you maybe haven't understood the mechanics of cryptocurrencies and therefore aren't a good investor. Still, you're lucky. Bitcoins are proven to be secure.

I have no clue what Bitcoins will be worth in the future and how they will be perceived in public then. Nonetheless, Bitcoin is a fascinating project and I'm looking forward to supporting it and maybe bringing it to worldwide significance by my participation and by being a part of it.
