I am Mike in Ohio. Just build a mining farm in the basement. 6 pc's with 4 6870 in each. Going to expand it once I can sell off some of my BTC to pay for the first 6 pc's. Had to put in a couple extra dedicated circuits because I kept tripping the one I was using.

Wow, so roughly what is your initial investment and how quickly are you hoping it pays for itself?

Just a newbie hoping to get some ideas.

Here I is.

I just checked out some fiverr-style gigs at a brand new Bitcoin site called Forbitcoin.com

It's got the fiverr feel only sellers get paid in bitcoin. Anyone see anything similar to this?

hi.  i learned about bitcoin yesterday.  i've got the client installed and received some credit from the bitcoin faucet.

now i'm trying to set up mining on my linux box but i'm running into errors.  i followed these steps http://forum.bitcoin.org/?topic=3356.msg47489#msg47489  but i'm using ubuntu 10.04 and i'm getting this error

Code:
    Traceback (most recent call last):
      File "phoenix.py", line 123, in <module>
        miner.start(options)
      File "/home/scar/local/src/phoenix-miner/trunk/Miner.py", line 75, in start
        self.kernel = self.options.makeKernel(KernelInterface(self))
      File "phoenix.py", line 111, in makeKernel
        kernelModule = imp.load_module(module, file, filename, smt)
      File "kernels/poclbm/__init__.py", line 22, in <module>
        import pyopencl as cl
    ImportError: No module named pyopencl

i tried installing python-pyopencl but then i'm getting this error:
Code:
    Traceback (most recent call last):
      File "phoenix.py", line 123, in <module>
        miner.start(options)
      File "/home/scar/local/src/phoenix-miner/trunk/Miner.py", line 75, in start
        self.kernel = self.options.makeKernel(KernelInterface(self))
      File "phoenix.py", line 112, in makeKernel
        self.kernel = kernelModule.MiningKernel(requester)
      File "kernels/poclbm/__init__.py", line 132, in __init__
        platforms = cl.get_platforms()
    pyopencl.LogicError: clGetPlatformIDs failed: invalid/unknown error code

(running command 'python phoenix.py -u http://user:pass@bitcoinpool.com:8334/ -k poclbm VECTORS FASTLOOP=false AGGRESSION=9')

Hi, just saw this post and I bet I have to introduce me a lil.

I am a long experienced coder in php / perl / C and my favorite: ASM (on windows)
I am also computer security specialist who work for a firm at Quebec City. I also do online marketing since 3 years now and I'm really happy to discovered bitcoin.

I just discovered bitcoin about a week ago and I think this is probably the best project ever launched to change the way people do business on the net.

I have a lot of new ideas poping into my head, and I already took action into building projects.

my ideas are (not complete list):
- food for bitcoins like bitmunchies but easyer for Canadian people to buy their foods.
- Escrow service for bitcoin, protect both buyer and seller, as I saw there's only few and buyer can abuse a lot of guys selling goods.
  I already launched this service so far, I don't know if I can post URl but I don't see something against it in the forum rules: so here is the bitcoin escrow service: http://www.btcrow.com . The service is operational and all was tested.
- I also think that all we NEED in life must be able to use the bitcoin system so I'm preparing more things soon.

This is a quick introduction of me Smiley.

Thanks for reading.
