Hello fellow bitcoin users.  I first came across bitcoin a few months ago but dismissed it as a neat idea that would never go anywhere.  I then came across it again about a month ago when this latest burst of press hit, which lead me to look into it more closely.  I will admit that I am now completely fascinated by this concept and its enormous potential.

My primary interest is on the merchant side.  I work with an investment and consulting group whose primary focus is web based businesses.  The idea of an alternative to credit cards as a form of online payment has me really intrigued.  The big card companies (visa/mc/amex) essentially have a monopoly on internet payments and they've been using this monopoly power in ways that are becoming increasingly unfavorable to the merchant.

I look forward to discussing this emerging technology with this community.

Hi All,

I'm in the process of starting a BTC options exchange.  I'll have more on that in a few days, and when I'm able to post in the wider forum.

Cheers

Hey BTCOptions,

I've thought about this a good deal. How far along in the process are you? I'm very interested to hear about it. I develop with PHP, and have done significant research in options trading. PM me if you want to talk anything through.

Best,

I as my name says I am partly insane ^^ but am distressed because my account has not been up-graded from newbie  Cry after setting up and running several forums i wholly understand the concern for security but I asked to be freed from the newbie forum in the whitelist section. I would like to be able to post on the topics that interest me which are outside the newbie section but am confined in these walls >.>. Maybe it just takes some time to get approved but i don't know T_T.

In the politest way possible I suggest RTFM!

... You are considered "established" if you have spent 4 hours online and have made 5 posts.

Hey all. Ive recently started mining. Already had a 5850 and just ordered a 5830. I figure a $110 investment isnt a terrible risk. I like the idea of bitcoin, hope to see it take off. I'll be honest and admit that I'll be happy if I'm able to mine for a bit, collect a few coins and trade them for some hardware, but looking forward to seeing where this goes.

So as an economist, what's your take on BTC? I assume since you're here and you have a bitcoin addy, you see potential?

Hey guys, name's Jack and I just got into Bitcoins because of how easy and simple to use they are. I absolutely hate PayPal because everyone seems to use it yet it is pretty insecure, so this seems like a great alternative. Smiley

I'm also going to be doing some bitcoin mining on the side since my computer is quite powerful.

You chose Bitcoins because you felt insecure over there?  How interesting.

I'm the natman.
I thought I would get my self into bitcoin just because I like decentralised, open source things.
Also, I think I might try my luck at the GLBSE, I consider my self good at stocks and stuff like that.
Also, because I use my computer for gaming and other stuff, it pays for itself in entertainment, The little mining I do has infinite profit in a sense.
