Economist with graduate training in Economics.

So as an economist, what's your take on BTC? I assume since you're here and you have a bitcoin addy, you see potential?

Hey guys, name's Jack and I just got into Bitcoins because of how easy and simple to use they are. I absolutely hate PayPal because everyone seems to use it yet it is pretty insecure, so this seems like a great alternative. Smiley

I'm also going to be doing some bitcoin mining on the side since my computer is quite powerful.

You chose Bitcoins because you felt insecure over there?  How interesting.

I'm the natman.
I thought I would get my self into bitcoin just because I like decentralised, open source things.
Also, I think I might try my luck at the GLBSE, I consider my self good at stocks and stuff like that.
Also, because I use my computer for gaming and other stuff, it pays for itself in entertainment, The little mining I do has infinite profit in a sense.

Hi All,

I'm in the process of starting a BTC options exchange.  I'll have more on that in a few days, and when I'm able to post in the wider forum.

Cheers

Hey BTCOptions,

I've thought about this a good deal. How far along in the process are you? I'm very interested to hear about it. I develop with PHP, and have done significant research in options trading. PM me if you want to talk anything through.

Best,
Jack_Jones

PM'd IMO.  Although the message does not show up in my outbox, so please let me know if you didn't receive it.

Currently looking for more programmers, designers, and *maybe* outside investors (although I'll cover most of the investment).  If anyone is interested in contributing for either a flat fee (USD or BTC) or equity share, you can PM me, and I'll let you know if we can use you at the moment.  Even if we can't, we plan on expanding very quickly after launch, and I'll make sure to put all interested parties on a list of people to contact when we need fresh talent.

Cheers

It's been a wild ride for me these last days since i've learned about bitcoins
I've tried https://www.virwox.com/ but cannot recommend them because their commissions are outrageous

call me crazy but i'd like to try mining with an acer aspire 7552g laptop
with an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5850

on btcguild

if i make 1btc/day the investment should pay of in about 70 days (not calculating energy)

until the cia prohibits it we are part of something really amazing

good luck again
and have nice day

Don't mine on a laptop, you'll burn up your GPU/Motherboard.

Hey all. New to the Bitcoin economy despite having researched the currency since last year.

I'm a huge believer in sound money and I do see Bitcoin as Max Keiser said, "The currency of the resistance." I'm currently a student about to get my Bachelor's degree in Economics and Criminology and I am an investor and work at a precious metals brokerage firm. I've just started pooled mining with BTC Guild and using GUIMiner (with so-so results) but as the difficulty has increased I personally find mining less profitable vs. trading. Regardless I hope I can contribute to the community and if anyone would like to donate a tiny amount to help me out I'd appreciate it! Thanks! 19m3deHDqhQ3h1D996QbLcwPCEJGA9v2qE

Been researching for awhile. Mining seems like a lost cause for me at this point, but i see potential here. Not everyone who got rich during the gold rush was panning!

I've been hearing about BTC for a couple weeks. Seems like it popped up out of nowhere and now all the blogs I read and podcasts I listen to are talking about it. I finally bit the bullet and tried it myself. At this point I'm not investing any of my FRNs in it but I started mining with BTC Guild and we'll see what happens. Smiley
