But what do you do to complete these purchases like in a cafe or something, you use a tablet/smartphone to do the BTC transaction?
Just WIFI, a somewhat busy cafe and some trust they won't kill you/rob you/give fake money/too little. Almost every cafe has WIFI now. In the Netherlands you don't have to be afraid for cops getting you this way, they are restricted by law. There is some risk. You will have a problem if you travel around the city with a lot of money.

I have to sleep, but if you find it interesting and want to know, how to take some precautions to make it safer, maybe we can talk later about it.
Good night.

Hello, I've been a programmer for ~25 years. I used to lurk on the Cypherpunks mailing list back in the '90s. I'm very interested in the algorithms and crypto behind Bitcoin.
I'm concerned that Bitcoin will suffer if a large amount of hashpower become centralized in a one or a few miners (or pools of miners). I'd be interested in other people's opinions on this. -- Fran

It is also quite easy to change your bitcoins to normal money in cash. At least in Amsterdam, it is. For your daily food, you don't have to touch the ATM, if you have some bitcoins lying around.
Here in Arnhem I haven't heard anybody about bitcoins yet. Maybe now that I've picked up on it I'll hear more about it though.

Hello my name is Ellie and i work from home and am very interested into getting into Cryptos big time..I have been so far studying the rise of Bitcoin and also the troll box on BTC-E trading Center. I bought a coin and uploaded there and so far did some bad trading because I am a noob. I want to really help this alternative Bitcoin mania to get mainstream enough in order to have some traction against the global bad economy. I also would like to know how a noob like me who is totally non geek can get to min her first coins..I tried on my laptop but it burnt my windows and I had to reinstall so I know i need something better than a laptop to mine..

Hello! I have a Non-Profit Organization www.FreezingMoon.org - bitcoin://1QHJSbZMxhBsPxP7ZbjGrbhznfL8tCEMCMWhat I do: I'm a very versatile game developer with a business management degree. I've started this foundation and I go on the internet and look for various talents, such as artists, coders, composers etc, that I put to good use working on free open source game projects that are commercial quality and that can eventually generate income in order to sustain themselves. I do a bit of freelancing now and then and even reward contributors. The first game project is called Ancient Beast www.AncientBeast.com - bitcoin://1Gpa3NKn8nR9ipXPZbwkjYxqZX3cmz7q97I'm an open source advocate and really love freedom, so day-jobs are not for me. I don't have that much money though, but everything I get I put into open source, so consider supporting me financially a bit I'm on this forum because I'm looking for more collaborators and partners, so I need to get my access to be able to post in more detail in the proper categories

Hello all! Bitcoin crossed my radar and I'm trying to purchase some .. IF I can get a client working and IF I can find a straight-forward way to transfer my money into MtGox. I'm finding some hurdles/learning curve with both.. Which brings me here, lol. Have been watching the BitCoin prices surge over 10x in the past 60days, incredible! First started tracking it in January, had no idea it was on the cusp of taking off. Hopefully it will continue. Hopefully can cash-in before my govt.paper "money" evaporates entirely. (And now I have 2 posts, yea)

New here, been a long time member of the tor network and have been watching the bitcoin market for a few weeks now following the speculation and mining forum. I am currently working with a partner and building our first rig. We'll see how everything plays out

Hi all, will try to do the 5 posts in here but I'd rather read than talk, so, besides a question here and there, I'll be a quiet one generally.
I have a modest number of bitcoin and want to buy more but wow! the prices! - bitfloor has a problem today and does not want to accept my buy order - I think it is a good thing at those prices and perhaps a little bit of luck is keeping me from paying at the current high. Gotto go figure now how to put a limit order into the interface. I have a modest mining pool going but I won't get rich on it - slow going.
I'm into bitcoin as a form of activism and shunning the current cabal that has no respect for anyone else's humanity, work or money - and I like software anyway and have developed my fair share.
If bitcoin continues as it has been there will be a host of other service type businesses needed, and that is where I'll be interested. I see the marketplace gaps.

Howdy guys. Awesome forum! I got into bitcoin a few years ago. Mined a little but eventually quit. Kicking myself for not keeping with it. Trying to get back into mining now since I like building and fixing computers as a hobby.

Tech/IT person with a recent interest in BTC. Like a lot of people, I read up on it a few years back but wasn't keen enough to snatch up a few for potential investment. Revisiting the benefits of distributed currency combined with the recent trend in valuation peeked my interest. Doing some mining now, but nothing serious.
Awesome community, glad to join! New
