I heard about Bitcoin last summer, thought it looked interesting, and mined some coins. As the proof-of-work difficulty increased and people started applying fancier hardware I couldn't economically mine anymore, so I went into hibernation. The recent Silk Road hype brought bitcoin back to my attention. I am personally hoping for a hundred Silk Roads to bloom, not necessarily drug focused but just supplying things off the books. I have a bunch of fireworks and related supplies I'd love to offer, for example, if I wasn't afraid that I'd be facing a federal agent or a lawsuit the instant one of my customers does something careless with his purchase. But if there's a properly veiled way to do business I'm responsible for just one thing: maintaining my reputation as a businessman who supplies what I offer.

Hi,

I'm Hens. I'm only here because I want to ask the other users for their bitcoing investment/speculation stories. I'm particularly interested in their rationale for investing (i.e., why they think it'll go up). I have to escape this newbie dungeon first though.

Hi, my name is William. Looking to learn more about BTC cryptocurrency and possibly start mining. Don't have a rig or anything yet. My laptop doesn't have a powerful enough graphics card to mine, so for now, I'm just watching to see how things progress and how I can become more involved in this project. Thanks

Hi,

I'm Thanak. I just learned about bitcoin a few days ago and been lurking in the forum since. I find the idea of a decentralised world wide currency facinating.

I'm not really tech swavy but I've manage to install the client and a mining software. I joined a mining pool and manage to get 0.02 BTC in 3 days Undecided   I guess every fortune have to start somewhere  Grin

Actually buying the coins is not very user friendly so that leaves me with having to actually work to get my hand on those precious BTC. I figure offering a service is also the best way to help the projet.

I'm a decent Go/Weichi/Baduk player,  I play at the 1 kyu level on the KGS server.

I usually help out people for free, but since I need to make a bitcoin living, I can provide lessons for anyone from 30-6 kyu. I can teach in french or english

For a one hour class (30-40 min teaching game + the rest for review/question) I will charge 0.2 BTC  (Mostly available weekdays 22h00-24h00  Canada/US eastern time)
If you want, I can also simply review a game you played. Send me a .sgf and I will send you a fully commented .sgf back for 0.1 BTC
Other arrangement possible, price subjet to change.

I've made an addresse for this Baduk4Bitcoin@gmail.com and I will monitor it daily. Just send me a mail if you want to schedule a lesson.

Hello, I'm a new registrant, long time lurker and bitcoin aficionado. I've been interested in the concept of bitcoin and projects similar to it (dealing with both currency and/or distributed computing) for a long while, and have only become an avid bitcoin miner recently.

Hello. I discovered Bitcoins a few days ago when I found out that my HD 5870 was worth 33% more than what I paid for it new over five months ago. Instead of selling it and upgrading, I decided to put it to work and give Bitcoins a shot. So here I am.

Ive been reading about bitcoins ever since I heard about them (when they were at about $3US each), though I didnt register to a bit later, and hardly posted, which has got me stuck in the noob play pen.

Related topic: if youve been registered for a while, but have low posts, you should be allowed out of the play pen, since if you were *actually* a troll, you would have been by now. My 2c.
