Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

Hey guys, I'm Jason and have been mining for about 3 weeks now and am totally loving it. Just makes me a bit angry to let my other video cards go so cheaply to my buddy... working on getting them back now. Anyway, I'm having a blast and am learning allot, soo glad I found out about BTC.

I'm Gilgamesh. While I'm not in the position to mine new Bitcoins, I consider the future of Bitcoins to be limitless. Tothat end, I'm hoping to take my bitcoins business live by the end of august.

Not sure how to get "established", but apparently this is the only forum i'm allowed to post in.  Hoping that making a few posts will help.

You are considered "established" if you have spent 4 hours online and have made 5 posts. (http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=15958.0)

I Just made a python script for importing "vanity" addresses from vanitygen (https://github.com/samr7/vanitygen)
Specially for those who didn't manage to build showwallet patch. Try carefully, on a test wallet.

Newbie here. This is my 1st post, and I just learned of the existance of BitCoins 2 days ago.  I make enough cash from a real-world job to invest in hardware, and I am eager, but I am reading mixed opinions whether it's even worth it or not.  Plus, I want to try and get it to work on my existing hardware before buying anything.  I've already opened a BitCoin wallet, registered on Slush's pool, and tried to use GUIMiner on Slush's Pool.  But, my GUIMiner just sitts there and says "starting..." without actually doing anything. It did this for 16 hours.  Yes my Slush login info was entered, yes it works on their website. Hopefully an advanced or intermediate user can tell me why my miner won't mine...

Not sure about Slushs Pool specifically, but in other pools you also need to configure a "worker access" for you miner program, which is usually different from your pool account. You use the pool login to manage your intermediary BTC account and such, while the miner uses the worker access to request work and submit solved hashes.
