Hi everyone, my name is nrkrs.  Grin

I am Incomer, nice to meet you.

I am a 34 year old Madagascan who speaks mainly in French, so I might be a little bad at getting my point across in English, though I did pass it in school. My parents came out here back in the late '60s and loved it so much they stayed. I am glad they did, it is a pretty nice place to live.

I would hazard to guess that most people here are from the US, though I would like to see how many other people are also from other parts of the world.

I've spent some time reading about bitcoin, and I think this will be a wonderful technology for the 21st century with regards to digital currency.  Looking forward to getting my first bitcoin! Smiley

It appears to be a fairly good alternative to what we currently use, and also appears to be quite resilient to shocks that would have crippled another type of currency.

Keep mining, you will get your first fairly soon, despite the corrupting influence of the pools.

Hello everybody, been lurking around for a while, finally decided I had some things to say and now I need to hit the limits =)

Way too much speculation and just plain old wrong things being said in a lot of posts, so I'd love to be able to add my two bitcents.

please do so! and get a post Smiley
don't be so negative, the 5-post-4-hour-rule is there for a reason: to get rid of the trolls. NOT to piss newcomers off.

relax take it easy and smile. Cheesy

Hi everyone,

I've been reading the forum for a while. So wanted to start posting one day so I used a friend's account. But all he used his account for was trolling, so I don't think anyone would take me seriously, so I made a new account today.

I love bitcoin and I also want to fund the forum, since I know this forum's one of the key parts of the community.

Hello i am a bitcoin newbie . Mining with a 5750 , been at it for about 1 and a half months . did ten years or so of seti@home then world community grid so i decided to give this a try. Mostly i am a lurker , in  and just reading trying to learn. I have zero programming skills but i found mining to be fairly straight forward. I really like the idea of mining bitcoins and as long as there are bitcoins i will probably mine them or some fork if it looks promising.i have been running a machine 24/7 for better than ten years now processing for seti and wcg and i don't see that changing anytime soon , just a new processing task. I plan to get a better video card and possibly a second machine. The apartment i rent includes the price of electricity so i personally don't pay extra for it so it is feasible for me to keep mining. Hopefully bitcoins have brought in an era where an average computer guy can cover some of his computing costs by putting his machine to work an earn a few bux. I was selling the coins on ebay but had several problems with buyers . I have sold on ebay trouble free for two years and in two weeks two different people claimed unauthorized access to there accounts in order to get a refund from paypal for bitcoins . Seems bitcoins attracts some wascals so now i am using the canadian bitcoin exchange.

www.cavirtex.com

I have not had many dealing with them so far but i deposited and  bought a few coins and sold a few coins and withdrew money no problem.
The bitcoin forum is very impressive i have never really noticed so much support when i was doing seti and it is very inspiring that bitcoins have motivated so many people. Hopefully all of this will be around for a lo0ng time i find it very entertaining all around.

Thanks to all for making it all possible including showing up here to post

Hello, Sy here,

Have been Bitcoin mining for a few months now.
I have also started to develop a bitcoin lottery website...

Do you think this would be a popular site?
I haven't found a 'real' bitcoin lottery draw online yet so I hope to fill a gap.

I'm spending most of my time making sure the site is secure for the general public although bitcoin transactions are monitored through the bitcoin network and a third party site, they are not processed internally which should put your mind at rest.

Further info to come... (when I'm not a 'newbie' anymore,  Tongue)

Later days...
