I have 2 Radeon RX 470 cards, a 4GB and an 8GB one.
The 4GB one refuses to mine, saying it has insufficient memory when I load ethminer-0.9.41-genoil-1.1.7
The 8GB one mines (DaggerHashimoto) ETH at 23MH/s.
My card is the Sapphire RX 470 Nitro+ OC 8GB, mem clock speed is at 2000 MHz, Core clock 1260 MHz.
Not sure why my 4GB Sapphire Nitro+ won't mine it .. as many people mine with 4GB or less ... weird.

Try claymore miner and see if it works, people seem to use claymore without issue.

Have you measured power consumption?

Did you follow his instructions for setting up the environment variables to use all the memory available?

It is an efficient card, but the memory frequency is limited to 2050 MHz. So it is very disappointing for us.

So Phil you thinking about 110 watts ISH for the 470? How are the temps? I just ordered a 8gb 470 Nitro so I am hoping the power figures are comparable to the 370's.

I ran it alone and did 152-159 watts on the hot meter entire system so 110 watts and 21-22 mh is a fair guess. I think it is better at mh per watt then the 480's by a little. this came in today and is what I am testing http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202229this comes tomorrow http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202230

Thanks for your feed back. I have been eagerly awaiting some data to go with these cards and it looks like it was worth the wait! I will also post what I get with the 8gb 470 to see it it matches up to what others have reported. So far it looks like the 470 is going to be a good card.

Did you follow his instructions for setting up the environment variables to use all the memory available? Haven't touched the 4gb card for mining since the weekend (launched NiceHashMiner and it just crashes windows during any benchmark test). Also haven't measured power usage on my 8GB card. Last time I checked my watt meter was way off when I tried to see how much my old KNC Jupiter used. I just had a look for these instructions you're talking about ... And either I am blind or there is just about NO instructions anywhere to be found. Everyone just posts their speeds and hardware... not command line parameters to be found anywhere ... (or they are super old and don't work). ethminer-0.9.41-genoil-1.1.x post says you can mine with 2GB card ... I can't even get my 4GB card to mine .. But others are mining fine? What parameters are they using? Can't find any info ...

I'm getting 22.x - 23.x with the 470 nitro 8gb. With this 1 card I'm pulling 252 Watts at the wall dual mining Eth (ethi 16) and Sia (dcri 35). The only thing I changed in waterman is the fanspeed (1500 - 2500) and temps (81-65). The card is very quiet and stays at 64. I upgraded to 16.8 drivers (windows 7 for the os) and the memory is capped at 2050.

Make sure to read the OP for the Claymore to get the settings needed for your startup .bat or shell script.

I was thinking about building a 470 rig but i am not that impressed by the hashrate mining ETH. The price is not that much lower then a 480 8GB either, so i guess i will start building another 480 rig instead.
Or am i missing something ? I know overclocking the 470 suck right now until a new driver is released but i still think it is way overpriced.
