I will have 3 rigs running 7 of the MSI RX 470 Gaming X 4GB cards. I plan on performing all bios mods and clocks to optimize. I plan on running some Minitab optimizations with profit being the optimized value not MH.
Miner / OS options
Nicehash w/Windows 10 Minergate w/Windows 10 ethOS Mining OS, I ordered the SSD to try simplemining.net OS
Which miner / OS does everyone suggest?

My personal preference is Win10 and using WattTool to overclock/undervolt. SimpleMiningOS is alright. I recommend claymore etherum miner. And if you have cheap electricity I recommend dual mining (eth + dcr or pasc probably)

What do you consider cheap electricity?

Hi, i have
RX 470 Nitro+ 8GB (samsung) bios mod strap 1625 timing, -96mv, core 1050, mem 2050 = 74w @ 28,4Mh/s ETH
Its very efficient
The actual power from the wall should be more than 100W. Your value is from the GPUZ. hm surprising, on th wall 296w = 2x 470 8GB + i5-3450 @ 2core/1,6GHz 0,871v I looked into hwinfo, there are several values. GPU core power, GPU chip power, GPU power in Vram. So it could be - GPU chip power GPU + VRM power in 70 + 49 = 119 * 2 = 238 watts Rx 119w per 1 RX 470 ist real? ----- 298-238 = 60 watts mother board + cpu, perhaps even minus 10% efficiency power supply. The 119w per 1 RX 470 is about right.

Sapphire RX 470 4GB (Ref style) Memory Variants and their Max Hash Rates :

Hey.. great job you did there. Did you used the 1625 or 1750 timings ? Any other modifications? Thank you!

What do you consider cheap electricity?
You can calculate the extra wattage dual mining uses and see if its worth it at whatever your electric bill is.. Just throwing a kind of random number out there but $0.05c per kw may be "cheap"

this memory hynix or elpidia???
As mentioned, its Samsung memory Did you used the 1625 or 1750 timings ? Any other modifications?
I used the 1625 strap for 30+ but the result wasn't very stable for me. I currently stick to lower clocks at 1125/1950 and 28mh/s. 2025 mem clock for samsung seems a bit low, especially for 30.2mhs.. So I'm guessing he used 1625.. I have been using 1750 but this makes me consider switching to 1625.. thoughts?
2025 seems low??? Wow man you must have really good chips, these are clocked at 1750 at stock so that's an OC of 275. Some cards were stable at this speed, and some werent, so I backed off to lower power stable settings 1125/1950.

well watts to hash and even price ratio, I'd say go for 470s honestly. edit: whatever is on a good sale in any case

You could do better by bumping the core clock somewhat - it's too low. Tried it. 28.6 MH/s, but power consumption is growing strongly.

I always used rx 480 cards for my builds in the past , few days ago received my first rx 470 nitro cards order for my new build. My first priority was optimizing the bios for ETH mining with low power consumption and high MH/s GPU-z reporting 75.6 watts , the card real wattage is around 100-110 watts / card . ( Test bench idle power draw at the wall 68-72 watts , with gpu hashing total wattage is 170-175 watts at the wall ) I was able to push the card to the 29.5-29.8 MH/s range , with much more power draw , but never checked the stability on that speed , it was running for 15-20 minutes without any problem . Played with the bios / timing / voltage , created a modded bios , there is my result : If im not using the computer to taking screenshot's the hash rate is stable in the 29.2-29.4 MH/s range
