I have 48 1060 running at 80w/+0 core/+1200mem.
I might decrease the mem OC as i'm thinking it could be a bit too much for 24/7... What do you think ?

Which cards are those? And megahash rate please?

My experience running a bunch of different 1060's in some 8gpu rigs:

Generally if they have Samsung ram they can be clocked to +800-950 on the RAM depending on cooling. Max out around 23mh/s stable.
Micron RAM seems to max around +150-300 depending on cooling. Max out around 20mh/s stable.

Also some of the best cards I have are the shorty single-fan cards from EVGA. If you get the ones that don't have a cheap flower cooler, they are just as good as the full size card except maybe a bit less cooling area/airflow.

Good info.
Can you provide an exact model number or name for EVGA single fan cards?

Dont buy 1060s over 3gb as the ROI is not good above the 3Gb cost.

Once ETH goes to POS switch the cards to ZCash as they do well on Zcash.

Where I am I can get 3Gb 1060s for the equivalent of $219 USD where as the 6gb cards are $100 more but dont give you anymore speed.

Hi friends,

I'm looking at purchasing some GTX 1060's for mining.

Are there any specific brands I should be leaning towards?
Do any of the brands have a high chance of Samsung memory or are they all pretty much Hynix or Micron?

Thoughts on this?
Gigabyte Windforce GeForce GTX1060 6GB

Thank you  Smiley

I have bought P106 videocard that has the same chipset as GTX 1060. My hashrate is 20 Mhs without overclock and 24 with overclock.

I think the GTX1060 3GB only worth $200~250.
Any editions are not much differences, except the VRAM production.
and dont get the hynix VRAM . It sucks for ETH mining!

How? Wich cards are you using? What hashrate do you get?

EVGA 1060 SSC
~24MH/S per card.

Does it make sense to pay 300 euros for top 1060 6gb model?
just a 100 euros more and you can get gtx 1070.

1070 does 30mh/s with OC and 1060 does 24 (25 if you're super lucky with OC).

Fan speed 50% GPU Temp: about 60 C

Hashrate ETH 135, Stable

In weekend I will try to OC more. Will see what it will give.

btw. do you know if there is some power calculator for dual mining or I just have to check step by step what is best setup for dual mining ?

Stay the f**k away from 9ghz cards. They are for gaming, not for mining. Hashrates lower than 8ghz ones. Even with OC.

I managed to play with 4x GTX 1060 3Gb cards yesterday.
with stock gpu clock and +748 mem (+1500 effective on top of 8000) claymore was getting 90 megahash/sec

with ethminer 0.11.0.rc2 (or rc1, which is the new version with David Li patches)
I got 95.33 - 96.2 megahashes/sec using --farm-recheck 2000

I really hate ethminer's --farm-recheck 200 option, you get too many hashrates low and high, hard to get an average.
farm recheck 2000 (2 seconds) seems working fine with nanopool

ethminer also does not report hashrate to the pool. but it get shares as usual without problem.
I wish claymore can incorporate these new cuda patches to claymore miner so we can use ethman or similar software/scripts to get it under monitoring.

edit:
I kept mem +748 but reduced power limit to 75% and core to -200 mhz, hashrate still same. It can probably go down further but it wasn't my rig and I was managing it on teamviewer.
