Quite a barrier of entry to get to posting... I think I'm almost there!

I am glad I came to the newbie area.  Makes a lot more sense why I could not message.  haha

Took me longer than i'd like to admit to figure out the pm and posting restrictions!

Fairly new to bitcoin mining.  Have played some with mt.gox before and bitcoin spec in general.

Mostly interested in getting access to the for sale section (eventually.)

Good to meet all of you.

Although I saw that little extra info for the newbie section, I still searched around in the faq when I actually wanted to post  Cool

Hmm, 5 posts to not be a newbie, i think it's too much :p

Generaly, when someone want to spams, the number are not the probleme.

I hope that work here with 5 ^^

I think system makes perfect sense!

Otherwise you would have a board FULL of people scamming for BTC Smiley

Exactly! I think post should be judged by quality, not by count. But that would be hard to be implemented...

I find this 5 post restriction quite frustrating, to disable automatic spammers one post is enough, and if a bot can post a message, then it can post 5 Smiley

You're right.  A mod would have to regulate every new member coming to the board.  And they'd also have the displeasure of telling people "no".
