Only suggestion is maybe relax the rules about messaging to allow it either instantly or after fewer posts / time? I would really like to message a particular individual but can't for another 4hrs 30 because of these rules

A wild need-to-post appeared!
User uses register. It's moderately effective.
Forum uses newbie restrictions. It's super effective!
User is unable to post. User faints.

This forum has soo much room for improvement. I know the forum was considering to change from SMF to a different forum software, but what is taking them so long?

My vote is to change to vbulletin. Forum revenue will increase, as well its easier for both members and mods. Custom changes are expensive (yet would be cheaper then smf).

With increased revenue potiential, and with less headaches, why is this forum still with SMF?

These restrictions are really really annoying. There are other ways to combat spam. Such as preventing new users from posting working links, restricting signature permissions, preventing them from starting new threads in 99% of the forum, and preventing them to post in 10-20% of the forum are some good ideas. Doing a full forum lockdown, forces us to spam in *this* section and could potentially be impacting on the ability for many newcomers to contribute to the forums.

I agree, you need a good contribute to spam ratio, I just feel your current system could be improved and possibly follow the methods used by many other (and more popular and more spam targeted) forums.

If its not powering up, then its probly completely rooted. But if it does power up (but not boot) then try getting a copy of slitaz, or linux mint as these are operating systems that can run without being installed and can run on a computer with a fried HDD -> these are useless if you want to mine from your laptop, but good enough to use to get online for trolling forums, or whatnot.

HA... while I've been waiting to jump thru the newbie hoops I've found an airbnb that will accept bitcoin... which is not surprising considering the space: https://www.airbnb.com.au/rooms/708776... maybe the newbie space IS the space to trade/shareinformation/connect. To think I've been pulling my hair out in frustration at not being able to post new topics, when I could have been doing it here in this very newbie space!

Hello!

Bitcoin user.

Posting like this is a bit annoying. I have nothing to say here, but have a relevant question for the creators of Electrum.
