On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays I believe that bitcoins are worthless, because they are not widely used, because they are hated by governments and competitors, and because they have a few little intrinsic problems.

But on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays I believe that bitcoin is actually the best currency in the world, better than all fiat currencies, precious metals, t-bonds, IShares, because they are non-inflationary and easy to move worldwide.

The question is, which view will prevail? Will enough people recognize quickly enough how useful bitcoins can or will soon be? Why?

Of course nobody can know right now, but perhaps you can post your strong opinion.

The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

Hi folks,

I'm Alan and new to this forum (and also new to the Bitcoin mining business).

I have to say that I don't like the "newbie restrictions" since I have an urgent request in a specific thread. A solution would've been a verification email with a code in it or something like that, or a captcha code for these so called "newbies".

Anyway, I guess I have to wait four hours.

Cheers,
Alan

Due to a mass of trolling, only established posters are able to post in non-newbie sections. You are considered "established" if you have spent 4 hours online and have made 5 posts.

If you have really good posts, you can post a request for preemptive whitelisting in the appropriate topic.

Also:
- You must have made one post in order to send PMs.
- You need 10 posts to put a link in your signature.
- You need 50 posts to put an image in your signature.

Note that it may take up to 10 minutes for your PM or posting permissions to be granted.

We don't take care about silk road. It isn't our business and it isn't connected with bitcoin in any way!

Yes I agree the 4 hour post thing is very annoying but I guess it serves a purpose (post #3, 2 to go)

So what options do other forums use to avoid the 4 hour wait?

The five-post rule doesn't make much sense because people will just write these boring comments. But the 4-hour rule makes more sense so you can prove that you were browsing.

Bots can't make coherent, on topic posts, even in the newbie section.  Bots can browse just fine.

"The powers of financial capitalism had another far-reaching aim, nothing less than to create a world system of financial control in private hands able to dominate the political system of each country and the economy of the world as a whole. This system was to be controlled in a feudalist fashion by the central banks of the world acting in concert, by secret agreements arrived at in frequent meetings and conferences. The apex of the systems was to be the Bank for International Settlements in Basel, Switzerland, a private bank owned and controlled by the world's central banks which were themselves private corporations. Each central bank...sought to dominate its government by its ability to control Treasury loans, to manipulate foreign exchanges, to influence the level of economic activity in the country, and to influence cooperative politicians by subsequent economic rewards in the business world."

Great restrictions, there are other sites that I wish would do the same
