If Peter Todd in his part of "Zcash Trusted Setup Ceremony" https://petertodd.org/2016/cypherpunk-desert-bus-zcash-trusted-setup-ceremony used BLU android smartphone to have internet connection, could it be somehow compromised ?

Recently some chinese smartphones including BLU R1 HD, were identified to have some spyware installed. Not an expert here, but Peter's model looks like Studio X8 HD (2Q 2016).

Since zcash is completely untraceable, the amount of transfer, etc all hidden. If dev or an hacker have a backdoor and secretly generate new coins, it will not be detectable, right? I heard that zcashdarkcoin or something similar did something like this, and people new coins secretly created. This will not happen to zcash I hope. Is there anyway to detect things like that?

You can check this via the block explorer... but why should he do that... he has a premine of 20% in fact, if this damm bastard is smart then he reduce the block rewards and the coin will pump to $20M and he has $4M profit.... now he only has $600k, so this dam idiot need to fork his coin, it is good for him, it is good for investors. The miners already had their profit and greed, now it is time for the investors to make some profit.

Why do you think anything is broken right now?  Why in the world do you think devs would do the #1 thing that breaks trust in crypto: change reward scheme??   We're still in the slow-start phase.  Everything in the market right now is basically beta.  You can safely ignore it and bet the final market value is going to be different once slow-start is over!  ZEC follows BTC reward schedule, and BTC was worth beans for a long time before it hit the price ZEC is even at now.  Did BTC change reward schedule just because of falling prices??

You need to check your expectations here, placebo.  The coin is a fucking baby in its lifecycle, and all real investors know this.

Yes, it was mentioned in their blog this was a security issue.  That's the whole point of zcash: to be able to make transactions without the public knowing the buyer, seller, or amount.

I think this price is suitable for buying and I will buy some more zec at the present time.

I'm wondering what would be the real marketcap for this coin... currently $4M... but that is because of the high inflation... i think that is the biggest problem... those 12.5 reward blocks... if they would already reduce it to 6 ZEC then the price will not just double but tripple and even a lot more.

Even when it reach the high reward (12.5). the price will not under 0.1btc . I think the bottom is around 0.1btc

I bet if they will never get his first price again.

guys it is not very strange, that zec are going down. It had a big hype and hysteria. If it starts like a normal, simple coin the price on it would be more realistic from the very beginning. But we had 2500:1. That's why it is so much hurt for people. From the olimp to the hell.
