Bitcoin is the bank, it`s first I saw when I started to read about bitcoins. Almost everywhere written, be your own bank, on almost every wallet or site that promote bitcoins. I don`t think regular banks will have big roll in bitcoin economy, bitcoin itself can do many things alone without help of some third party.
I don`t agree that regular banks should have anything with bitcoins, they have big fees for everything, and they charge a lot every transaction. I`m afraid when they get into bitcoin, they can make things more expensive nothing more.

May Be bitcoin idea is not so good, becouse we have bitcoin wallet such as our own bank so nobody can rule our money. and Bitcoin bank will make the decentralization that bitcoin made being useless. but If the bitcoin bank offer a good deal with the users like chance for investment with no scam guarantee, may be it will be good.

I don't think BTC Bank is useful. Generally, BTC is always safe. No need to keep a bank. Its safe, no taxes during transaction, digitally can be transacted.

So why to keep a BTC bank.. Lol!

It would be good but I wouldn't want it to be handled by people with bad histories or a part of the government. It will be crucial for the world of bitcoin to create this one thing. That is why people here are trusting bitcoin because no one really owns it. So it will be hard to make them trust a bank that will be controlled by someone.

I see no need for a bank, though we should have insurance companies that accept bitcoin payments (all exchanges ought to be insured).

I do not see much of a difference, but I do not trust banks anyway therefore I prefer to keep all my money myself Wink
Keeping your money by yourself has a greater chance being stolen than inside a bank, even if you put it inside a safe/vault with experienced robbers it won't be any problem with them, also  why not trust banks? They don't still hour money anyway they just decrease its value over time.

Exactly , well i bank can still be robbed but i think you can still get the same amount that you store to them. But i just dont like the idea of bitcoin bank it self. We already have a wallet which represents a bank

I do understand people does wanna to get interest into their bitcoins, and banks does provide those service with fiat for a long period with a great rate of sucess, they able to share 1-5% monthly, would be great to has such service at bitcoin but bitcoin does make us our own bankers and we dont need an entity to take control to get those %, we can make it ourselfs.

Even though Bitcoin gives us the power to have control over what we have, people still don't seem to appreciate this feature yet.

And that shows as they are constantly looking for (mostly high risk) ways to invest their coins into something just in return for a certain reward.

These people are only interested in the potential profits that they can make where they completely ignore all the risks. It's is pure greed.

I at all times avoid services and sites that promise me a certain reward in return for my coins. I must at all times be in control of all my coins.

Absolutely, maybe only if they offer daily/monthly interest, then it might be ok.

Need some spare btc for a new PC that can at least run Adobe Dreamweaver.

Banks can loan out more, because a large part of the loaned money will be added to a bank account, creating a reserve for a new loan by the receiving bank.

Even if the borrower spends all the money, the shop where it's spent, will likely deposit their income in a bank account.
yeah i think bitcoin bank will provide new innovations in bitcoin. you not only can save your bitcoin but you can also earn a profit from the interest and other innovations you can easily borrow or lending bitcoin in the bitcoin bank, (if you meet the criteria) of course it is a good idea? I think bitcoin bank is not too bad

What if they run, like Mt. Gox. The very nature of Bitcoin is decentralization, having a bank would make it centralized like real money is. Also, Bitcoin can easily be transferred, and the transaction cannot be reversed. So in the event, it gets stolen, or the bank runs what do the depositors do? No government will enforce your right over that stolen money.

I'm my own bitcoin bank... and "interest" can be accrued from lending, but that would mean you leaving all your bitcoin in exchange.. essentially a bank..  Roll Eyes

Why, are you happy with your bank's interest on your deposit? Usually, they give below 1% per year. Satisfied with that? So whats the point of having interest here if there would be a bitcoin bank?

It's not a problem for those who have a lot of money and want to get a very big security. So for me he has more comfortable using the bank than he wanted because maybe bitcoin get guaranteed security and will be the compensation if he lost his money on the tube or deposited. So, this all was born because one's mindset is different, so if we disagree then see the advantages and disadvantages of each then it would be a very good thing and does not cause hostility

There was no hostility intended here. But I would like to see his point in convincing one's self that interest on bitcoin bank would be the determinant for them to agree with a bitcoin bank. If a financial institution intends to make a Bitcoin bank, then they cannot offer really high interest on deposits. If they do give out high interest rate, then they would turn to ponzi scams. I hope you guys see my point here.

I do like to be my own bank and those 1% i can get doing trading, or even at sports betting, i dont see the purpose to risk my coins into a bank and get my money over control of someone else, makes no sense let the freedom to go jail once again.

I think it's up to you. it means that you prefer to decentralization for complete control over you. but of course there are some people who also like to invest and save, they do not think with third parties at risk
