I have a MSI Z170A Xpower gaming Titanium Edition mobo with 7 pcie slots, could only get 3 cards to run it, any ideas?
Have ASRock H97 Anniversary LGA 1150 as well running 6 290's and Asrock B150A-X1 with 5 slots, but can only get 4 390's to run on it.

What is your PSU?

Don't talk shit about my god Claymore he's doing a great work if you don't can come up with a better miner just shut it!

Great work. but no NVIDIA support. I let the lamers hash with claymore and watch their profit decline to 0.

The hate is off the charts in this one!

Nvidia guys must be angry they spent double the money for inferior hashing.

I never understood (and still don't), why anyone would pay double the price for an nVidia card for MINING. For games nVidia iss a no brainer (for me), but AMD is just the far superior and only choice when it comes to mining, imho. Unless you don't care about ROI and mine for fun, it doesn't make any sense...

this was discussed (debated/argued may be a better phrase for it) in the Silent Army thread.

the defence of the Nvidia buyer was that with the right tweaks etc for Nvidia like Claymore is doing for AMD they would apparently hash at a higher rate than the AMD, use less power as well as holding more resale value.

The counter arguement was something along the lines of the AMD cards are cheaper, are easier to write code for as Opencl is more acessible to do than cuda and AMD cards do hold their resale value rather well as they are favoured by miners.

It went on for quite a few posts

Grin

Honestly the thing about resale value is an argument that doesn't really hold for me. If you get a 1070 at 500$ and sell it a year later for 250$, it's the same thing as getting an RX470 for 240$ and selling it back at 120$. You lost 50% on your initial purchase, but for the price of one 1070, you got 2 470s...and I'm not sure 1x 1070 will hash as fast as 2x 470s (honest question)?

I don't mean to spark a new flame war about which is better, but I think most miners tend to forget that the point is to get the best bang for buck equipment as to minimise your initial entry cost and potential loss. At the end of the day, everyone is free to do whatever the see fit!

they are actually very akin in hashing but wattage is better on nvidia, the real difference is that nvidia don't have a proper dev that optimize it each time there is a new algo

nvidia don't have Clymore

you will sell it at $400 not $250, that's is the difference, and nvidia was far better on lbry so it was worth it few months back

Suprnova -I Take it back, the other address came up, but I want to add, that would not bring the people to abuse in the form of a foul, it must be time to pay attention to their problems, the rest all happy with suprnova, as they previously had no such problems. Win10 , 15.12, r9 390 -290 H/s , 5xr9 390x-150-157 H/s 1120/1500 7970-208H/s 1100/1500 7870-110 H/s 1150/1550 Temperature of 57-63, the speed of the coolers 60. Thanks for the help!!!

Okay now I know why my mining profits first went from green to red and later to brown. Damn, I have been in this game quite long and I didn't see this coming.

7970 still does over 200 s/s with claymore 8.0

I've gotten two b150a-x1 to work with 5 cards, you need to set pcie to gen2 for all slots and alocate 3.5gb resources to vgas in bios. Also, disable sound from bios, else you might get no resources available.

I hope someone can help me with my problem. I have 3 gpus. Xfx rx470, sapphire rx470 and asus hd 7950. Problem is that i can't run all three gpus together, only xfx and asus or xfx and sapphire. My motherboard is asus p5k deluxe wifi.

What do you mean? You have to be more specific on why the third card doesn't run. Tell us what you're doing

Well I got this hd7950 for cheap and I also bougt a riser and built the rig frame and all. When I connect all three gpus xfx is in pcie x16 and sapphire is in pcie x4. They are both on motherboard directly. Than I connected hd7950 with riser in pcie x1 and only xfx and hd7950 were working. If i disconnect hd7950, xfx and sapphire are working. I also jump wired a1 and b17 pin on x1 slot.

From my experience running a 7770 with a 480 I had first to install the 7770 using the 15.12 drivers and only after install the 480 with the latest drivers. I think you should try first installing the 7950 alone on the x1 and ser if thats  is the problem and install the other 2 one by one.  Other things to look for is if you have enough power for all 3 cards. At a minimum a 650 PSU is needed. By the way how much you paid for the 7950?
I got it for 90€. I will try that thing with drivers. Thanks for help
I didn't succed with running 3 gpus. I got code 12 error in device manager for third gpu. Not enough resources

yes but it is second hand, no warranty, and 300 usd is quiet much... another posibillity would be an 390x for 260 usd but with warranty for 2 years...

Im just worried that it "fails" before the roi... what you think? power consuption is not the problem...

Thanx, will try as soon as 2 of my 290 cards come back this week, actually gave up on this mobo to only take 4 cards. If this works I don't have to fire up my MSI mobo for 1 card, have 11 cars at the moment.

How many H/s does r9 380 has? I think mine is a bit slow. It only has 140-150 H/s.
Is this normal?

I think it's a bit slow because, my older hd 7850 is getting around 95-103 H/s.
