So how do you guys handle the large power pull required, if your running this 5 to 10 units from a residential address (I'm in the US).  Since I'm a noob around this, and say it needs roughly 5500 watts for 5 units, I would imagine you couldn't run all 5 from the outlets in one room?  I have two breaker panels, one at each end of the house, and I noticed I have one 30 amp breaker in each panel, but a boatload of 20 amp breakers.  Anyone help me out trying to understand how I might run this?

a 24 amp pdu is a down rated 30 amp   so you don't melt everything

so 24 x 240 = 5760 watts  and at 240volt  it will absolutely do  4 maybe 5

I have run  3 of them with 2 s-9's  and in the winter  with cooler weather it does it.  but in the summer with hotter weather I have to do 3 avalon  with 1 s-9  or I trip  the breaker

Damn Phil...sorry for all the questions...but does the PSU's already come with the type of plug that fits that 3 pronged Outlet you linked to.  Or since Canaan is shipping to the states they send the normal type of plug for 110V use stateside?

I also got the email stating out-of-stock and replied the YES I still want the miner. Also bitched about why so long to tell us as last time I was informed of non-stock 3 days after the order - not 10.

Biggest bitch is that I also have a A721 with a dead fan and Canaan said they would ship a replacement fan with the new miner. Replied to that ticket with it now being a huge problem and I need that fan ASAP as I  am now down 2 miners: 1 because of dead fan and the new one that was supposed to be here by now...

If all you want to ever run is 5 741's, nothing more, then you will need a 30 amp bipole breaker. Have an electrician install the breaker and run at least 10awg copper wire to a L6-30 receptacle. I use Leviton Part#2620. From there, you will need to purchase a PDU (Power Distribution Unit). Both Tripp Lite and APC make 4-6 port PDU's that are compatible with the L6-30 Receptacle. You will also need Power cables to connect the PDU to the PSU that you choose. The PDU side will most likely be C20 cables, but pay attention to the power connector on the PSU side as well so you order the right cable combination. Common power cables are C20 to C19 or C20 to C13. I typically buy my cables from IronBox Electric on Amazon. Great selection, high quality, free shipping. Hopefully this will get you started.

Yeah, I guess it depends on the shipping cost for getting the miner to your part of the country. For me, it was cheaper the other way around, but its not a huge difference.

Phil gave you good advice! I would suggest running a sub panel to the room where you plan to do your mining if the current panel is not close by. That way you can have short cable runs from the panel to your receptacles. If you're in the usa and use standard wiring codes you wont have to do any "converting from 110 to 220. By default 220 single phase service is run to our homes, at least that's the majority of people. by running a sub panel to the room, you have everything right there and you'll avoid running across the house if you need to flip a switch. If you end up keeping your current panel, all you need is a dipole breaker. It essentially combines two 110 lines giving you 220 power.

If you plan to run ten avalons, pretty much double my recommendation. Have two breakers installed in your current panel or the new one if you choose to have a new panel installed in your mining room.

the 100 c is the asic chip
