FedEx pinged be this morning with my tracking number - looks like it'll arrive on 8/30.

Is that standard for Fedex to let you know in advance....or because you might have an account set up with them?

In my case I have an account with them.  I order enough from china having the account is worth it.

I have accounts with:

Dhl
Ups
Fedex

Thanks Phil....so it's NOT Canaan letting them know to notifiy you I assume....guess I need to ping Lily to ask if he/she has one for me....

No its the tracking system telling us they have no information even though the product shipped.
they need to blow the snot out of their system. working on it.

Thanks for the reply. I went back the last 15 pages or so to try and get a good idea about running these units, and definitely understand their supply and demand issues. I'm not worried about getting my units especially after reading the posts from their Rep/VP/helping hand Steven. I just wanted to see if there are any options apart from BTC or USD wire transfer available for payment. Either way I'll make sure I'm ready to go, no matter what it will be better than trying the lottery of catching Bitmains sale and hoping the hardware lasts.

They just take BTC or wire transfer. No other payment methods.

They dont take wire transfer for less then 60 units. I had 10 on order and went somewhere else because BTC was only option

Thanks for the update on wire transfers, I am going to go the BTC route for my order.

I have another question I have a 2450W power supply built by amitylabs (ebay store) out of the states.

I know theoretically I should be able to run 2 of these of the 1 PSU but does anyone who has run these have any experience with what these actually draw. I have no intention of overclocking the unit and at max my ambient temperature will be 35C in summer(already past that) and 20-30C until winter hits when I will easily be able to keep it at 5C. (yay Canada lol).

Thanks in advance.

Just a quick headsup: If anyone is not comfortable with paying a company in Bitcoins to buy Bitcoin mining equipment, please go do something else with your money. I promise you it won't end well.

Anyone get any further info from Canaan re shipment of this batch?

I got the replacement fan today - without any notice from Canaan saying it had actually shipped/tracking number. Like the miner I'm waiting for was just notified that it was in-progress and I'd be told when it shipped.

Anywho, got it, about 5min later to replace the fan/shroud and the 721 is happy again. Now wondering if the miners are also in-transit for us...

The typhoon in the region caused a lot of havoc.
We put a shit ton of orders into the fulfillment center ( maybe a shit ton and a half)
and they started shipping, the tracking system is slow to catch up.
Got the tracking number yesterday and FedEx says it should be here Wed.
Thanks!

Weird - I bought 1 unit from them and they sent me the wire transfer option as a default. I wanted to pay in BTC though, so I guess I never tested it.

This is not true, my original order was a wire transfer with no issues.
When I made my second order a few weeks ago I also requested it to be a wire transfer like my first order, they didn't have a problem with that and send me the info to make my payment.
When you place your order simply ask if it can be a wire transfer(must be USD and you pay wire fee), I don't see why they would deny it

if you set it at -1  I think  it will be okay.

it does about 1075 watts at the kwatt meter  on -1

settings are

-2  =  1025 - 1050
-1  =  1075 -1100
0   =  1125 -1150
+1 =  1175 - 1200

you would need a hot psu like 12.2 or 12.3 volts

I am looking to buy some 741  tomorrow too, however can some1 let me know how quality is this miner comparing with the competitor like S9 or Ebit plus? For the efficiency, I see it is pretty closed to S9, and much better than the Ebit plus.

There is a new power supply available on canaan.io.

Do you think this will work for a L3+ as well? Why shouldn't it work? It's a "normal" power supply, isn't it ?? I am from the EU(germany).

Yes it will work but it doesn't have enough number of PCI-E power connectors. You would need a PCI-E power connector Y-splitter to power the controller.

I'm happy to see that Canaan finally comes up with a PSU and it seems like it's a robust one.

Sorcerer Power Supply Unit

Quote from: Canaan
Input   176 – 264V AC 15A MAX 50/60Hz
Output   12V 130A MAX
Rated Power   1600W
PSU Efficiency   93%
Air-intake   -5°C to 40°C
Plugs   8 X 6-PIN power connectors
Country of Original   China
Net Weight   2kg

Price: 129 USD

It doesn't work in the 110/120V systems.

I already have 1 Avalon 741 with 2x Corsair 850W and I have some power connector left.

Is it possible to power the L3+ with one sorcerer from Avalon and to power the Controller with one power connector from the 850 one?
Hmm or 2x850 for the L3+ and the sorcerer for Avalon ? Which would work better? Roll Eyes

Great step from Canaan to release the power supplys for small quantitys.

If they can fullfill their backorders, we will have a bright future with their avalons Smiley

Anybody got details about new generations of the avalons?
I can't imagine that there will come new miners from them before next year..

Theoretically it should, but judging from the pictures it looks kinda jimmy rigged... I've had excellent experience using properly designed breakout boards with the 741's. I have two of them running off one IBM 2880 watt unit. no problem.
