my AUC3 was broken, do you guys know where to order the new one here in US?
Is there an issue with these? I have set up all my equipment Miner goes all green communication with antpool and interface no problem just auc3 stays green and miner never mines( no communication from controller to miner. Everything else seems good? The AUC3 dongle is rare as hen's teeth on the open market. Seems to be made for Canaan or at least custom-coded for them. Yes as said several pages back there was/is an issue with some of the dongles not being programmed when made. As repeated elsewhere: Open a ticket with Canaan.io If you got it the miner through Minerwarze, reference your order# in the ticket. Overall Canaan has been fairly quick to take care of things like this.

I already submitted a ticket. I bought on eBay drop shipped brand new. It may be complicated to get assistance from Canaan. I really appreciate any help.

I already submitted a ticket. I bought on eBay drop shipped brand new. It may be complicated to get assistance from Canaan. I really appreciate any help. Okey dokey, the not bought direct from Canaan or their few Authorized distributors listed on the Canaan site will no doubt be an issue. Not to rub it in but that is hazard#1 when buying miners - only use the makers Authorized sales routes to ensure having a Warranty of any sort. Technically that is between you and the seller. That said, at worst Canaan will say to buy one from Minerwarze if in the US, think they also have a EU distributor now as well. Check the Canaan.io site. From there biggest problem will be availability of the dongles. Canaan's Global Sales Director hangs out here and says Canaan is addressing the spares issue. Anywho... All I can think of is to look at the CGminer Status page and see what devices are listed. Example: Right underneath the Pool information there is a section labeled as 'Avalon Devices'. Those are the dongle(s). My examples shows 2 Devices and their ID's. Any devices (dongles) seen on your screen? If not safe bet the dongle (AUC3) was not flashed. Under that area is Avalon Device Status. Assuming the dongle is seen, all miners attached to the dongles are listed here. The examples shows a total of 5 miners. edit: Hmm, as a question to Steve @ Canaan: Given the right programming software can the firmware in the AUC3's be refreshed/flashed in the field or is the firmware WORM?

Hello, first time poster here.
My friend and I are looking to buy a single co-located rack to mine with Avalon 741s. So, the maximum amount of avalons for a single 19" 42u relay rack would be: 186.7cm (rack height) / 22cm (height of 741) = 8.49 shelves = 8 shelves x 2 miners each 19" shelf = 16 miners?
For power, would the DPS1200 PSU Kit, running @ 220v from GekkoScience be a good bet and be able to fit (2) per shelf w/2x741s?
Finally, a 30amp 240v circuit line at 80% (for continuous operation) / 4 would be 1440watts each to power (4) Avalon 741s per circuit. For a fully loaded rack, we would need 4 x 30amp 240v lines. (note: not clear how to power Raspberry PIs if all circuits are 240v)
Please let me know if these calculations are correct, or if I am leaving something out, as I would be using this info to determine the cost of the colocate.
thanks.

Good job thinking things through. All numbers correct as 4x1.44kw @ 220V = 26.18A leaving good margin for the 30A feeds.
As for the Pi's search Amazon, eBay. etc for RasPi Power. Should find a bunch. Go for at least 2.5A out, 5A best. Most are wall warts with universal 110-240V inputs and at worst need a plug adapter to use 220v.

Most data centers are not set up for miners. The typical rack has 10kw of power supplied to it. A high density rack would be 20kw. Something to consider. Most data centers around me were only set up for 120v or 208v.

208V puts 4x miners @ 27.2A, pushing margins but still good for in-rack PDU's.

Ja the hair over 23kw load for the rack might be an issue. Need to ask the colo about that.

NotFuzzyWarm/SilentMining,
Thanks for the feedback. Could you help w/those power calculations for the example of a high-density rack w/20kw @208v ? Is that 20,000w/208v = 96amps per feed? In that case, wouldn't I need (2) 20kw lines to run 16 miners?

Don't forget about the 80% rule. Most DCs will limit you. Figure 76 amp at 208v. On 208v, it would be around 23 amps. 4 PDUs would be 19.2kw. So you would need to get 24-25kw after the 80%.

Hi Guys - I received my Avalon 741 this week - was dropped shipped from China I believe. I am using two power supplies which i had purchased from ParallelMiner. Both show 12.4 on the break out board.(I'm not sure if that is significant or not) Each power supply is plugged directly into an outlet. So one side of the Avalon has 3 of the power plugs plugged into power supply1. The other side of the Avalon has 3 plugs into power supply 2. I have the raspberrypi usb mini cord plugged into a power strip. The lights on my AUC3 converter are green. The lights on the back of the Avalon 741 are Look to be YELLOW..(even though in picture they look white). Any help would be greatly appreciated! Edit: I did open a ticket with Canaan two days ago. No response to my ticket as of yet.

That's weird, have you tried switching the sub port you are using on the controller?
There have been issues with the auc converters but usually you can still get into the api log and the miner status page.

@Steamtyme - I will try to make sure I try all the ports on RaspPi
@Phil - when I click CGMiner API Log or CGMiner Status, I get sent to a page that says Bad Gateway. I can't get to the CGMINER API log age or CG Miner Status page.
I recall Phil mentioned to make sure the RaspPi has good power. I have a brick coming from Amazon, Aukey brand I believe it is.

Its definitely the RaspPi causing the problem, both of mine did this and scared me. To fix it I shut it down waited a few seconds and powered it back on. On my second one I had to do it twice but not sure if I rebooted the router as well.
