The pool needs to find a block before paying you.

Was I correct in setting my wallet address as my username in the miner.cfg file then? Do you know how long it takes on average to find a block?

Flypool finds 14.46 blocks/hour

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

Why are gpu's running at top speed if they are not connected to a pool?  Is this information saved up for my address?.. and do I get credit for it?
I would think the gpu's would only run when connected to a pool.

Its either you have a virus/malware or some background process utilizing your GPU.

Try reboot first then run antivirus/antimalware

Have a good one!

It doesn't necessarily mean a virus/malware, and unless you spend a lot of time on piratebay, it most likely is not. If you have multiple monitors, that could also be the problem.

I have 3 1080 Ti's, and one of them wouldn't throttle down, so what worked for me was just re-installing the drivers. Use ddu first to remove any remnants of your current drivers https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html

Just like I said some background process utilizing your GPU.

Hmm.. brand spankin new windows 10 64bit and 4 gtx 1070's... happened with 2 1070's running as well... all maxed out and hot enough to fry an egg on.
Only when I run my .bat file for ewbf.

I'll try redownloading ewbf from another location.

Thanks guys. Smiley

... edit.. just wanted to say that it does say it connects to Dwarfpool,.. but, what I mean is the downtime.  I read it takes 14 minutes or so to be added to nicehash, or etherium etc.. .. edit.. blockchain?

I have 3 1080 Ti's, and if one of them stops, EWBF doesn't seem to be able to start them again. It says that it is dead, then not responding, then it says started, but it isn't really, then it loops with the dead/not responding.

Is there anything I can do? I'm using Ubuntu, and I can see the PID for each of the cards. Is there a way I can check them and restart if they're not running?

I was thinking a cron job that checks it every few minutes or so, but I've only been using Linux for a few months, so I'm not that versed in it.

Thanks in advance

Might be a driver issue, especially if you are using too recent of drivers.

Hi there folks,

could someone with a 1060 test something for me?

What Sol/w do you get with 50% TDP, +200 Core Clock & -500 Memory Clock?

It would be very nice if someone finds the time to test this for me.

Crashes.
Set the Mem to 0 though and it's fine, 222 Sol/s (So 50% TDP and +200 Core) - https://imgur.com/a/h2T3a

As I recall, somewhere in the 378 range seems to be optimal for 1080ti mining.
 373.06 for older NVidia cards.

Here are some stats from my 9 MSI Geforce GTX 1080Ti gamer x 11G card rig.

I spent the morning moving away from some base settings that I had in the SimpleMining OS overclock page. I got the originals from this forum and some of the content providers on YouTube. I'm mining Zcash with the EWBF Cuda miner. The settings I originally had worked well and were stable over a period of several days. They gave me a system that I could run in the garage and kept pretty much below 70c or very close to 65c on average day and night. After watching them a few days I couldn't help but try to get just a bit more out of them while at the same time trying to keep the heat tolerable for me and the "wife". I'm sure when she gets home from work she'll be glad to find out I accomplished nothing else. Grin

The cards were installed right from the box to a Z270-A motherboard with what I think has the most current bios.
The cards have no updates but for the correct version of SimpleMining for Nvidia.
I added the m2.0 adaptors for the 2 additional cards changed a few things in the bios and ran the SimpleMining OS from a USB stick.

My original settings for the overclock page were Core 60 Memory 800 Power 200 Temp 75 Fan 60
Total Sols about 5800 and 3.5Sols/w This setting pushed the heat a little in my garage cards running into the 70c's

I changed that to Core 100 Memory 500 Power 190 Temp 75 Fan 70 They ran a bit cooler under 65c
Total Sols about 5600 and 3.9Sols/w This seemed good enough to run for several days with no restarts each card running between 620/645 power around 175.

Today I'm finishing with Core 150 Memory -250 Power 200 Temp 75 Fan 70.
Total Sols about 6340 and 3.89Sols/w Total watts 1622 or around 180 watts and 720 Sols per card.
I can get them a bit higher but my settings in the garage aren't completely set up yet so they get a little hot for my liking. Fresh air is the next item on the list. I'm hoping they'll last a little longer if I'm not asking too much from them.

After wading through the forums here I'm happy with the results. If anyone is able to get through my drawn out explanation here and has suggestions I'm all ears.
Sorry I wasn't able to incorporate all the shorthand you all are so good at.

The EWBF miner within the SimpleMining software is easy and seems to work well for me. The results seem predictable and steady.

I hope maybe my information will help the next person.

200w Power or 180w ?

In the overclock page of SMOS you can put in a power setting and I'm finding that when you look at the api stats page it's running just a bit less than what I put in. In fact I see that the power used by each card fluctuates a bit depending on stability I'm guessing. They are never all running at the same power, speed or efficiency at the same time. Very dynamic. When I'm putting in settings on that page you are essentially guessing on the outcome. You put in a few numbers and restart the miner than watch a while for stability issues. I can't be anywhere as nice as having full operating system with the ability to run the MSI afterburner tool and seeing how any setting affects another in real time. I had to restart the miner about 2 dozen times (slow learner) before I was happy with it. A few extra hard resets just because a card would completely crash. It was pretty cool to watch one go down. I'm sure that's not good but I wasn't in a hurry today for once.

A little bit of work to get things the way I think they should be but with SMOS and EWBF together on a bootable USB is really handy. No hard drive and no messing around with anything else. Just turn it on and it's mining.

Sorry, long story short,

The setting was 200 and the results hovered around 180 give or take 10.
