I find best XMR settings for my 270X 4Gb at least... Now gg gives equal speed as Claymore miner. -rI 470 -w 8 -g 2
Whole day I tryed to find same settings for 280X card but I can't. Claymore on 280X gives 10% more speed than maximum speed gg miner... I tried on 280X: -rI 470 -w 8 -g 2 -rI 512 -w 8 -g 2 -rI 512 -w 4 -g 2 -rI 1008 -w 8 -g 1 -rI 1008 -w 4 -g 1 -rI 720 -w 8 -g 1 -rI 720 -w 4 -g 1 and many others... Best for my 280X is -rI 463 -w 8 -g 2
Thank you very much, For me it was very useful. Whats your hashrate with R9 280x ? Modded bios 280X 1170/1675 Claymore gives 693 H/s, gg is maximum 658-660 H/s

you compare only the speed !!! and the power consumption ? what is your ratio for speed/power ?
for example : you can speed at 1000 for 500 watt and you can speed at 900 for 400 watt. what is the best choice ?

I don't care about power consumption. I compare only speeds with equal frequinces.

Is it possible to solo mine Ethash coins with this miner?
I haven't tried that yet. You could try it yourself and let us know! I haven't succeeded mining ubiq with sgminer sometime ago... but I was using config files and probably didn't put the correct addy: "hhtp://..." or something so maybe it always thought I'm trying stratum...? Anyway please let us know if you succeed. Same with a conf file. run gg with help param, I think I saw there something that could make it work. try bat file, not json. edit: in any case you're expected to initiate a JSON RPC on your geth rpc port, proxies may be required... dunno... i have try for mine on dwarfpool via her proxy : gatelessgate.exe -k ethash -o http://localhost:8080/r1 -u <wallet> -p x --xintensity 5120 --worksize 128 --gpu-threads 1 it's work fine. good to know. so you just need to get a solo proxy: https://github.com/sammy007/ether-proxy ...and it will work... or not

seriously guys, does anyone have any clue as to why rx470 with samsung mem running at 1750MHz produces on XMR 724H, while it does less(711h) on 1980MHz?...while at the same time Hynix behaves differently (see previous page for details) Anyone?

Running the memory at 1750 MHz uses tighter memory timings. You can adjust the memory timings with bios mods. Ethereum and Monero mining are greatly affected by memory timings and zcash somewhat.

There's a number of possibilities. Here's a couple off the top of my head: 1) You didn't properly copy the straps. 2) 1980 is pushing the RAM too much and you're getting HW CRC errors.

Here's a couple off the top of my head: 1) You didn't properly copy the straps. 2) 1980 is pushing the RAM too much and you're getting HW CRC errors. no on both accounts. 0 errors on 2000 mem as well, 1980 is an attempt to 'make it easier' for a non-optimized for polaris kernel, rejects are at about 2% (all cores stable on their voltage, no hw errors in sgm as well) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1716584.msg17973023#msg17973023EDIT: Also I'm well acquainted with 470 performance, and I've got various permutations of 470s in my rigs: mixed samsung and hynix and exclusive both. most of the hashrate is pointed to ETH now. Just tested on another mixed rig and apparently it's not happening there (no 370s there, but a pair of 480)... The weird thing is that: all my UVd 470s are doing in claymore 690(displays)-712, and in SGM I get 704-720, yet if I set this particular card to 1750 mem - I'm starting to see 725 and a bit less consumption. Maybe hash counting is off somehow?

Ethereum and Monero mining are greatly affected by memory timings and zcash somewhat. same 1625 straps there I have limited testing with 1625 straps, it seems to usually work, though the speed boost is small versus 1750, so I just run all mine at 1750 to be conservative. I have only tested 1625 on Ethereum, does Monero see a bigger boost?

Modding for optimal ETH: 1500 for Hynix and 1625 for Samsung- gives 28.5MH @ 850mv EDIT: ...and using these cards for other algos: XMR needs the most volts, but has lowest power consumption, ZEC runs @stock mem clock, Pascal @300MHz... but always on 1500(hynix) and 1625(samsung) straps

Why is this happening? UPDATE: well.... this makes things a bit better, and reminds that proper optimization for polaris is needed:) the power consumption is up almost 10W (2000 vs 1750) for ghm... nothing...

well... its confirmed... in current implementation of cryptonite samsung with 1625 straps give better hash at 1750 than 2000. And now my question, once again to the algo devs: wtf?

For my 470 Samsung cards, I loosen the 1625 strap just a bit and run mem @ 2060-2080mhz, which allows me to get good XMR and ETH rates. Its unfortunate there is no silver bullet, because ETH wants one thing, and XMR another, and ZEC yet another. So I've decided to just keep my core clocks lower and run XMR when its warm outside. Also... 470 Hynix can do 750 XMR with 1375 strap @ 1780-1800mhz... but that makes it useless for ETH. But if you are setting up XMR rigs, and want lowest power option, that might be a good option.

The way i do it with my 470 is edit the timing in the bios sense ETH uses memory more then any thing and then over clock as needed per coin with all most the same results as using three different bios with afterburner profiles but yea i wish there was one size fits all ... no over clocking profiles needed just switch coins ,,,,,
