I think ethereum, litecoin and ripple are altcoins that will last for a very long time. Among them will definitely replace the bitcoin position as number 1. Somehow, there will be a time for old altcoin to lead the number 1.

About Litecoin, do you really believe that it will be used in the future? My answer is no, we've already Bitcoin for that purpose, I really don't see it being used, it's there just because it's an old coin

Only about a hand-full will have meaningful value and the number of coins will significant rise. If it is not backed by anything the long therm prospect is grim.

Real use case altcoins will survive the future, something that innovates upon something in the real world. We already have hundreds of alts that are currencies trying to compete with bitcoin but the token type alts that promise to innovate on the blockchain itself are the ones that will survive in the future.

I think that in the future only those altcoys who will be able to make a really useful product for the people who will work will survive. Unfortunately, there are very few such alcoins yet.

Maybe ethereum? Is it counts as alternative currency? All of them, alts are depending and bounded to ethereum, so it seems logic to me, that is will survive...

Lot's of them, I predict. Market can contain them all and I don't see any problem in that.

If I see from its function, Altcoin that can survive for the future is ETHERIUM and WAVES.Where so far both have an important role used for a transaction. Especially ETHERIUM, where many new coins that will make the ETH as a reference price.

It all depends on how cryptocurrencies will develop. If in the future they will progress, many altcoins will only develop. In that case, if in the future cryptocurrencies fail, then ripple, Monero, Ethereum, Litcoin, NEM, NEO, Dash, IOTA will be able to survive from the altcoins.

Monero
There are transactions that necessitate anonymity for a variety of reasons that aren’t illicit.
Perhaps one government wishes to transact with another without the entire world knowing, or perhaps one business wishes to make a purchase from another business that isn’t public yet. Or perhaps further security is needed between parties due to legal concerns.Whatever the reason, I believe at least one token will survive the “Crypto Crash” that focuses specifically on anonymity. Most likely, it will be used primarily for transactions and not to store value or make everyday purchases.

Based on what it has been seen among the wide array of altcoins such as development, innovation, and security issues, what altcoins might survive in the future?

In my opinion, I think that the only ones prone to survive would be good old altcoins such as Litecoin and Dogecoin, but I may be wrong.

Nevertheless, I would like to know your opinion about this as well as any altcoin that might be worth holding onto for the long term.  Grin

What about all these tokens for the Eth platform? How long will they last? There are so many currencies but considering there so many tokens riding on the technology of Eth and Waves platform that it would be safe to say that they will both be around for a very long time to come.

Coins that have real life purpose, a using area will survive. Coins that only serve pump and dumps will die eventually.
ETH, NEO, WAVES, smart contract platforms, good POS coins, masternode coins, fast and reliable coins will survive.

In order to altcoin to survive in the future, it must focus on solving a problem but that is not enough, along with a wide possible network and potential application this problem should not be completely resolved by the mainstream cryptocurrencies, these include Ripple, iOTA, NEM and Siacoin.

Well, it is clear to all that they will not survive this fact, those who have a capitalization of more than $ 1 billion will survive, and their idea will be used in any industry.

Litecoin and Dogecoin are good coins, they can survive in the future, but in my opinion Ethereum is the most powerful and will survive in the future. The development of Ethereum is very fast which makes it a strong coin after Bitcoin.

Yes. While both Litecoin and Dogecoin are one of the oldest altcoins in existence and will remain in crypto land for quite some time, Ethereum is the strongest. This altcoin is the second largest cryptocurrency by market cap next to Bitcoin, which shows that it will survive for a very long time. The best thing that ETH has, is its constant development and innovation, which has allowed it to be where it is right now in a close level to overcoming Bitcoin in the future.

In crypto land, many altcoins come and go, but only those that could provide usability to our world, will most likely survive in the future. Cryptocurrencies which are more of the same, and are basically copycats, will die in no time. Therefore, I believe that only the top 10 altcoins by market cap, will survive in crypto land for the long term. The rest, could survive too but have less probability to remain alive than the top 10 coins in the market. Only time will tell us which altcoins will stay in crypto land for quite some time. Just my opinion Smiley

I read that practical quantum computers will be available in 2 years. Blockchain will not be secure anymore, so I think coins based on DAG are gonna survive.
