I'm starting to feel bullish, we're going down?  Shocked

I'm starting to get a head-spinning amount of bullishness.

Does anyone know the story behind this "ultra-coin" thing? -> http://ultra-coin.com/

It's obviously not this -> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=413978.0

so I'm guessing it's not a "coin" at all. I'm assuming that it's a wallet that writes code to allow for more exotic bitcoin transactions, and uses p2p network to allow users to connect to set up trades.

It looks exactly like the decentralized, trustless exchange I've been dreaming about.

Why have I not heard of this before and why is no-one else excited?

Reggie Middleton is behind it. Looks promising.

I don't understand the fund option. What do I get as investor?

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

I think everyone's being asked to donate rather than invest but you get Kickstarter style perks. Kickstarter themselves wouldn't take him on board.

Yeah, I thought so too.

whoa.

major flashback to the +/- 5 dollar days. <- edit for clarity: referring to the 4 or 5 months where we were stuck at 5 bucks, give or take.

bitcoin is like a new strain of bacteria released into a pristine, ripe, nutritious agar dish ... the size of this tasty dish??

$82 trillion Gross World Product

$55 trillion M2 Global money supply

$32 trillion in offshore bank accounts

$8.5 trillion value of Global gold holdings

... Bitcoin is right now the Premier security system for fast (<1hr) settlement/clearing of global transfers.

Forget about coffees, beers, sex toys and sheets ... microtransactions will be done by layer 2, BitPay, Open Transactions, ZipZap, Coinbase, VISA, etc who will agglomerate and settle using real bitcoin less frequently. I expect >80% of bitcoiners misunderstand the monetary nuclear fuel they are messing around with, its cute, exhilarating and terrifiying all at the same time watching the madness.

Security-wise the design of Bitcoin is not a POS, credit, debit national network class system, it is in the league of SWIFT, FEDWIRE, in fact it is already superior to them all as it does not rely on locale specific legal infrastructure for ultimate arbitration.

For anybody who is obsessing about bitcoin valuations ...

Great post...thanks.

I have always thought the same way about Bitcoin.  Even though we think its great...once they start using it, banks and governments will love it.

All numbers were collected by hand from the site http://bitcoinwisdom.com. Beware of possible errors.

For each exchange, the numbers include only the trade volume to/from the currencies listed in the rightmost column. Trade between BTC and other cryptocoins, such as LiteCoin, is NOT included.

Dates on the header line are UTC. Specifically, "01/15" means "from 01/15 00:00:00 UTC to 01/15 23:59:59 UTC". (Beware that Bitcoinwisdom uses your local time, so the date may appear to be off by 1 day.  For example, if you are 2 hours west of Greenwich, it may show "01/14 22:00" when the UTC time is "01/15 00:00".)

Just had a revelation:

When you think about it, the famous BS expression refers to Bulls.. not Bears..
Hence, who is likely to talk with more sense?! Grin

edit: and plz dont tell me thats just some coincidence

maybe so in the stock market but in the bitcointalk forums it should refer to bears

We don't want bitcoin to represent any underlaying value. Bitcoin is pure money.

That's certainly the theory, but practice shows it's viewed as a store of value with a price set in terms of its power to purchase other currency.

The total trade volume today (Wednesday Mar/05 00:00-23:59 UTC) on the exchanges that I monitor was ~524 kBTC, on the same level as the previous two days, almost exactly one half of the peak on Feb/25.

Volume in the Chinese exchanges increased 16% compared to yesterday (from 422 to 490 kBTC).  While Huobi decreased 27% (from 268 to 196), OKCoin jumped 108% (from 137 to 286) and surpassed Huobi by a large margin.  Indeed today's volume at OKCoin was the second largest in its history.  BTC-China and Bter fell by about 50%, and are still insignificant compared to the other two.

On the other hand, volume outside China fell 60% (from 85 to 34 kBTC).   The decrements at the three largest exchanges were  55% at Bitstamp, 61% at BTC-e, and 67% at Bitfinex.  Bitstamp is again the largest, but BTC-e is a close second, and Bitfinex a more detched third.

With these changes, the Chinese slice of the total volume rose to a historical record, 94%.

Probability of break out in the next 4 hours: 55.6%

What's with everyone calling for a breakout right now? We just met the 3 month downtrend a couple days ago, and it takes a couple weeks to break out of a 3 month downtrend. It would make no sense on the chart if it just went up right now without any consolidation.
