are we gonna retest 600$..or are we gonna see 500s$ thats the main question right now

620ish should hold

if gox dose start paying out BTC ( and doesn't get hacked again ) I could see markets going to into the 500's for a few days... when will the gox FUD end?

should be a different story when GOX FIAT is ready to be redistributed

Why would gox paying out send it down? Surely that is good news?

its good news for the poeple that got GOXED, but 180,000BTC suddenly available for selling isn't exactly bullish for the short term.

If 180,000 BTC are split between a million customers it shouldn't be a problem. Also, the positive sentiment associated with this and any media attention will surely help bring new fiat to the market.

Not necessarily. No one would trust Gox again under Karpeles, but it doesn't mean they would lost trust in Bitcoin and immediately sell all their coins.

Mtgox is not going to start redistribution of funds right after they file for bankruptcy. Even if they return 180k worth of coins people are still going to try to sue his ass to get anything they can back. What incentive does he have to return those 180k immediately? Mtgox has been unresponsive for weeks/months and suddenly everyone is thinking oh look we found 180k worth of coins in our wallet so now we are going to return a portion of your balance back to you... Bankruptcy does not work that way.

It would be so awesome if we would collect like 1000 BTC for Dorian, the old guy would be very happy and we would get lot of press for it.

It would force the media to acknowledge the shoddy reporting by Newsweek. Great move by Antonopoulos.

in any case this is a very short term speculative play, and a dangerous one, what if the poeple like their real bitcoins and keep it ( or this is complete BS and has nothing to do with GOX paying out some BTC) , suddenly we've got a lot of shorts that were counting on these gox coins hitting the market.

Hopefully the price rises to $1000 by the end of March so 1000 BTC is actually worth one million.   Grin

I was thinking yesterday that this would be a good idea.  So glad that it is happening.  I do feel bad for Dorian but hopefully the story ends well for him and his family.  All of this stress may be worth it in the end if he can end up in a better place financially.

And I'm completely serious: on a rational level, I agree with you. But the undeniable monkey brain part of me *is* wondering who is SN, and wants to see him interviewed and photographed.

imagine you fell into coma in july/august 2013 and just woke up. how long was i unconscious ? what -it is march 2014 now Huh what happened to bitcoin ?

well, they tell you things didn´t go that well with the coin. actually it is in it´s biggest crisis, lot´s of media report bitcoin is dead, even the forums are freaking out. it started with china sort of banning bitcoin, but the final ban didn´t happen yet. a bug in the protocol was detected which was probably used to steal coins from mtgox. then mt gox started having "problems", which turned out that gox "has lost" 800 k bitcoin, and no one knows up to today whether the coins were stolen long ago or recently, or not at all or just lost or seized - anyway gox collapsed and went offline without telling anyone anything. then, when newsweek relaunched their printed mag, they choose to come up with a cover story of finding the true satoshi nakamoto.

omg you think. all this bad news ... did the price go down to single digits you ask ?

"yep", they say "price of bitcoin went all the way down to 616.."

wait, what Huh Shocked Shocked

any bad news, or are we going down because low price going slightly lower is scary?
180,000 gox coins moving around

helloww, you cant be seriously thinking such "info" is effecting the price?
whats happening is just that there hasnt been a whale pumping the price for a while now and people just start cashing out. simple.

WE can rely on HdBuck to provide a NON-SENSICAL explanation.   WE know that both whales and regular people take advantage of momentum.. and the whales sometimes manipulate to see how far they can push it or exacerbate it to their further advantage.

They are being divided up into smaller and smaller wallets until they reach the approximate value of a single frappuccino.

Then, he will be able to quickly purchase millions of frappuccinos ... one quick booster shot at a time.
