and here come the dumps...CEO OF BITCOIN FOUND!!
The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

some movement on stamp.

Haha, people panicking  Grin

Or Satoshi selling, lol
Yup. Satoshi just sold his first 1,000 coins. 999,000 to go.

We'll catch them all  Grin

Just last night I was thinking how Satoshi could cash out his coins. The only way would be to wait it to go to some silly price, like few dozens thousands or so and have a deal with major exchanges to dump coins there to ground before moving them at all. Then he could send them to exchanges after dump so they could let people to withdraw or so.

We'd see movies made for that plan later  Grin

On serious note, I could take 3k$ profit on LTC last night for day of work and didn't, now it's where I bought it  Angry

I can see the media:  "Bitcoin mastermind found. Bitcoin is now at a serious threat of compromise if he is extorted and hands over teh secret codes."

He doesn't need to sell all 1 million BTC, just about 100k, so he can buy himself a bulletproof manor,
armored cars and bodyguards. Other filthy rich people like Bill Gates and Larry Page live like that.

Yeah, it's silly people are saying "he is in life threat now, bla-bla"... the only way he is in danger is if he is not real Satoshi. If he is real one, I'm sure he has quite a few coins outside of that one million wallet.

come on man, you cant compare the creator of litecoin and the one that first came up with the whole cryptocurrency idea... think about all the Secret Services from all over the planet who would just love to "interview" SN. And im not even talking about the huge pile of money Satoshi is sitting on.. or bankster that would just love to "make him pay" for the harm he has probably done to their industry

edit: and also, if SM indeed have health issues, all that pressure isnt going to help him recover...
He is just going to be harassed from everywhere until he dies.

Satoshi wasn't the inventor of cryptocurrencies, as bitcoin wasn't the first one (but the fourth or fifth).

I have seen it happen to many of those who looked into the Voynich manuscript.  To all but one of them, actually.  Wink

[ XKCD cartoon ]

We did of course consider the theory that the Manuscript was the work of a teenager who liked to play the alchemist.  (In fact I doubt that there is any theory left that we did not consider.)  One strong piece of evidence for that theory is the hundreds of drawings of naked women, which impress the reader for their quantity but however hint at a limited  concrete experience with the topic in question.  Indeed, it seems that at first the author drew dresses over their naked bodies, and only after a few pages he got bold enough to leave them /au naturel/.  There is also a six-page fold-out with what appears to be a fantasy world spread over a handful of little islands, like those that many kids conceive and draw in their teens.

We even had a candidate for the author, a mentally ill Bohemian (Czech) prince who lived recluse in the ~1600s.  However the carbon dating of the manuscript to ~1480 ruled him out.

The problem with that theory is that the manuscript is too long, consistent, and boring in many sections -- it seems very unlikely that a teenager would keep focused on a goal for that long, and would not put more fantastic stuff in it.  But that is not strong argument, of course.

The article also states that the person theyre talking to is recovering from a stroke and prostate cancer. If its not satoshi then it's criminal the extra stress and anxiety to put on an ill man. In fact that goes both ways whether it is him or not.

Ok, It may be the first decentralized one, but that was not what hdbuck wrote. Egold started in 1996 iirc, and ecash in 1993, then there was digicash, webmoney and a few others.

Last edit: March 06, 2014, 02:47:05 PM by hdbuck

So, time is passing, bitcoin related news (whether good or bad) are flooding mainstream medias, yet i cant help to think we are "far from" touching $1k/BTC again (all thing being relative, im considering the "short" term here - from 2 to 4 months, so dont jump around being all offended when i say "far from"). But good news is we'll surely be over it by July (according to this graph)

Here's the graph:

As you can see, after the last two bubbles, price always seemed to just stick with the lower band for at least 3 months. Yet it looks like we havent even start to do so lately. Hence, i wouldnt be surprise if we dip a little further.. just saying.

BTW, this is just an attempt to some entertaining chart analysis, which not backed by any complex equation.

What you think?

PS: but i'm happy as long as we stick within that channel anyway. Cheesy

It seems that some investors had imagined a very different "Satoshi Nakamoto" and were quite disappointed by the Newsweek version.

come on man, dont be that picky Smiley
SN came up with the whole concept of crypto currencies as we know it now and that is being advocate all around the world as we speak. Surely he based his work on other people's work but he's the one that made the whole train work.

Is it confirmed in the blockchain that "Satoshi's coins" are being spent, or is that just a wild guess?

You mean, disappointed, because of working on classified stuff???

"My brother is an asshole. What you don't know about him is that he's worked on classified stuff. His life was a complete blank for a while. You're not going to be able to get to him. He'll deny everything. He'll never admit to starting Bitcoin."
