1.7k ask wall on 145.5.
And gone again just like that.

Hmmm. More manipulative hijinks or a quickly corrected mistake? Rogue bot?

Im waiting to see it show up as a market order sell. I think if it happens, we'll fly thru 140, unlike last time.

I tend to think the whales who pushed us through the landmark askwalls and replaced them with bidwalls will intervene if prices slip too much. I don't think they're done yet. They seen bent on acquiring a lot of coins while driving the price up steadily but not too fast.

I think your $146 coins will be fine. I hope so. I just cancelled an ancient $150 ask I'd placed after buying at $97 last spring following the dead cat bounce. I replaced it with a couple of new asks at $160 and $180 in case it jumps up too fast overnight. My guess is that the next whale move, within a day or two, will bump us into the low 150s.

This whole rally from $100 is pure manipulation
May be manipulated higher for sure, but on this volume, with no obvious new money, when the rug is pulled it will fall far and fast
This rally certainly is the result of manipulation but that doesn't mean the goal is to dump and crash the market.

They seem too careful in not letting the price slip far before pushing it up again and making sure it stays up.

I smell some kind of new enterprise rather than just another trading ploy.

So what? There are no bailouts in this market. The "manipulators" are risking real (well fiat LOL) and large amounts of money. In this market they can lose just like everyone else, and they stand to lose a lot if the market goes against them.

Did you think they can do whatever they want without the possibility of a bigger fish (or an entire school of minnows) gulping them up?

Beautiful

+1. Exactly this. I don't see anything bad about "manipulation" if the manipulators have to suffer the consequences of their actions.

Well, thats where it gets iffy. A large enough whale can drive the market wherever it wants. It doesnt have the same risk a smaller trader has.

Like the Hunt brothers, for example? How did that work out for them?

Much bigger market Wink

Thats why its possible in bitcoin, at least for now.

The average per day for the year is >50k for gox last 50 days its 20k average. Bitstamps has about 6.5k ave. for the year and 10k last 50 days US market. gox'es trentline ponting down bistamp is on a strong uprend. The regulators doing a good job decentralising the exchanges for the decentralised currency.
