On the positive side though, there is a saying dont ever short a dull market.   Boring could be good, I dream of such things lol  Grin
Also that would fit alongside the idea action picks up in autumn

Look at how the sentiment has changed:

Nice, that is a heck of a swing.   I was kinda waiting for the tv channel themselves to swing the other way and say nah this is no good, dont ever use Bitcoin or something negative or change track and say go ripple with some corporate sponsor type structure.   That might be a bit much because it relys on viewing figures and Bitcoin if nothing else does raise the interest of people not normally involved with finance at all.

Bitcoin is stuck in a range here, going sideways.   Last time we were here it went on quite a way, month and 5 days and was crossing back and forth over what appears some ceiling now, previously a support point earlier in the year

It's not boring when it breaks below 6k, not to me. I almost enjoyed this bearish week more than the more boring sideways weeks earlier.

Yeah, I have buys in that price level, even in the $3k level.  But the problem is: everrrryyybody is also waiting for that so-called capitulation candlestick. In any case, I already bought some at $6,800.

Maybe some of the answers to my questions are obvious, but I am not sure what you are saying.

What kind of odds are you giving to your downwards dip scenario (maybe down to $5,400)?  Greater than 70%?  Your down scenario is not as bearish as other peeps?  Why wouldn't the price go below $5k, once it breaks below $5,700?  We have already seen close to $5,700 a few times since early February, no?

Did you buy some BTC in the $6,800 range recently, because the BTC price has been quite a bit below $6,800, recently, too.

Has your buying been at various price points along the way?  Did you buy more above $6,800?  Have you sold some, too?

Was the reason for your buying BTC in the $6,800 range because at the time of your purchase, you were not sure if the price was going to go down further?  And, was the reason that you did not buy below $6,800 because your lower buying target prices have not been met yet?

I ask because we all know that we have have had several BTC buying opportunities in the past more than six months of below $6k (starting from the beginning of February).

How come you bought some at 6800 when you foresee 3k level?

Guys I found bitcoins for 0.29 dollars. Is it because of the panic seller?

OMG that's so cool!  I need some of those.  Where can I get them?

Can't answer for @bustedsynx myself
but my answer would have to be 'you have to have some skin in the game, almost at whatever cost'
you need off-exchange money tied up, buried under the mountain, guarded by starving wolverines
what if there's a complete supply shock while you sleep and you wake up to the biggest dildo up everyone else's arse ever seen?
edit/add: you can't trust exchages to fill your bids ever, but especially at busy times
all the exchanges cannot cope if some idiot market buys 100k coins
or if fomo sets in the other side of the world from your bedsit while you're being friendzoned by the 5 from Polec101

Those things, and if/when bitcoin ends up being 50K you will not mind at all that you bought at 6800, might even brag about it

<00:02:27> "J B": ive been working on a bitmex bot... backtest prob a bit overfitted: with 2x margin, $5000 into $5.8 million since Jan 1 2018. https://i.imgur.com/j7B8Pjp.jpg and tradingview graph similar strategy with 1x margin, 4000%  https://i.imgur.com/oPfuQX4.jpg
<00:06:37> "J B": ive turned $200 into $50,000 in a week last Jan, and then frittered half of it away discretionary trading.... now im trying algo's
<00:08:19> "J B": ... its a hybrid algo, using both trend and mean reversion, that trades about 4-6 times a day dependin on settings.... but the huge profits were mostly Jan-March, then its got harder.... not as much dumb money left, and more competition from other quant shops

nb he says it's a backtest. but provides some insight...
