Gox has problems, but they always sort them out- supposidly the larger you are a client, the faster they sort things out too. :-)

Gox is a USD black hole. USD can't get out. The problem started 6 months ago, and it's just getting worse.

I think this problem will be solved rather quickly now that the US assumed an open position regarding Bitcoin, they only need a major bank to process the volume they aren't being able to process through their domestic japanese banks.

Yeah, sure. Soon.

China is not "safer".  Funny how you think charts from a communist country inviting "free trade and money here" with a government bent on control is a "safe" thing.  Oh well, minds all work in their own determined ways.

Safer meaning we dont rely only on Gox to determine the value of the coins.

I'm getting seriously fed up with Bitstamp.

And I'm under the impression I'm not the only one.

So, if you're a Bitstamp user yourself, feel free to add your opinion to my thread in the marketplace forum

I haven't given up hope entirely yet. They don't *need* to end up like mtgox :/

I think now with this hype raging, bitstamp has come into the crosshairs of all the newbs instead of Gox back in april. My guess is they weren't prepared for it. And can you seriously blame them?

Hhhm...you think?
I'm not going to argue but fart lighting is a frat-house activity isn't it and I really have seen enough soft-porn on here to realise this thread is essentially an old boys club.

I'm covering this subject (the sexism around here) in another thread, so best avoid any further comment

well I bought ~25 BTCs for ~530 USD pro coin on a turkish exchange site and transferred them to mtgox... didn't touch them even though I experienced the 900 USD mark breach and the extreme fall live..

I don't think it will fall much in the next few days (~700)... more and more positive news about bitcoins are getting pushed in the media, so I think the more popularity it gains, the more will the price go up..

Why yes, I can.

Read my thread if you want. I'm not blaming them for things that aren't under their control (masses of new users, or DDoS), but I blame them for the things they can control: first and foremost, their pathetic communication with users. No regular updates, no answers to pressing questions. That's exactly what pissed people off about mtgox, and why should the standard be different for stamp?

FYI I left gox before their trouble started.

They have none of my money since months. And I didn't even sign up at bitstamp.

Aah, the cozy warmth of indifference mistaken for cynicism.

They don't have to end up like gox because what they have to change can be rather easily changed: their communication with users, their attitude towards them.

Don't believe they're capable of that? Maybe. At least worth trying to give them a kick though, in my opinion.

EDIT: so which exchange are you using these days, I you don't mind the question?

My business just sold 5 BTC @ AUD$823.

Very happy with that.  Not too bad for selling $400 worth of products.

And yet people still ask me why the business accepts Bitcoin. :-)
