Happitty New Years, WordyMan. And all you other louts, too.

Well, yes... happy new decade, as well.     Hopefully. you will get a new van soon.    Wink

Thanks. I broke down and replaced it a couple months back. When the cost of upkeep started to look unappealing.

Hopefully, you got one with all of the jbreher tailored furnishings in order to be able to cruise in personalized comforts.

Not to worry. Still on a truck type chassis, but as far as trim level and such, there is none more black.

The monthly update:

Not much to say, 2019 was... well, expect the unexpected. ~94% "gains" are not that bad. On the other hand some may have had to reconsider their accumulation strategy and/or switch to some kind of DCA?

Anyway, I wish you Gentlemen a happy and healthy new 2020! Stay as you are, improve where you think you might lack some skills/qualities and make the best of this arising decade (starting this or next year, whenever you think it's appropriate). Smiley

Not sure if the 2020s can be as inspiring as the 1920s, but I hope they will be at least as exciting as the 1980s.

By the way, when do you think mankind had its peak, from a cultural/evolutionary point of view? I think at or around Y2K.

Gentlemen, have a wonderful January!

...
At least we are learning some German culture in all of this, so there is that.... little side benefit.
...
No offense, but this sentence is based on so many misconceptions, I don't know where to start. Would be a topic for a separate thread. Wink

in German ....

EDIT: you English natives seems to be friends of many words without so much content.

OTOH, we don't try to stuff complete sentences, with multiple independent clauses, into a single word.

Same OTOH as the Dash whale?

No, that's otoh.

On The Other Hand.

Sorry for confusing l33tspeak.

Well it was fun trolling otoh in the dark dash detergent days... good times with Iran’s best programmer

They killed Revolutionary Guard Quds-force commander Major General Qassem Soleimani and head of Kataib Hezbollah Abbu Mehdi Muhandis.

If you kill a general in an airstrike that is an act of war. Imagine if Iran took out a U.S general in an airstrike, although a retaliation strike by Iran would be strategic suicide.

For an attempt at clarification, I was NOT at all striving to be disrespectful to German culture or to really say anything about German culture at all except to facetiously respond to what I considered to be the various nonsensical points that Gyrsur was increasingly excitedly spouting about.

Maybe I should have placed a #nohomo tag in there somewhere in order to indicate that my comments were NOT intended as any kind of literally serious assertion about substance?

Please keep providing you monthly updates.........   #nohomo.....  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Fun fact:

So I run out of fiat cash with all the season's expenses and the BTC buying spree, and thought of using my brand-new Canon colour laser printer to photocopy some bank notes. Here's the result:

It seems that the printer has some pattern matching s/w inside it, to detect bank notes! So I scanned the A4 sheet of the copy, and tried to crop and resize it in Photoshop to prepare for posting (image above). Here's what I got:

Shocked WTF! Even Photoshop has protection! I tried Corel PHOTO-PAINT. Same thing:

Undecided ... So I launched good old Microsoft Paint, which did the trick! Never expected an M$ product to be so functional!

I Googled it, and found this:

EURion constellation

I covered the pattern and it worked! Bank note copied! Now I can go buy some MOAR BTC. Yeah!

Sorry for the OT, I just found it interesting. I guess consumer printers have become very capable lately, and companies are trying to prevent their use for illegal purposes.

Edit: I wonder if this protection works on that Z$100,000,000,000,000 third Zimbabwean dollar...

Edit 2: Took a photo of the same 50 € bank note, using my mobile phone. Photoshop still refuses to open it, displaying the exact same message. Corel PHOTO-PAINT opens it fine though...
