OT: Another CNBC bitcoin article from the snarky lips of Jim Cramer himself.

You know, for a guy that flip-flops back and forth from hating Bitcoin, to thinking it's amazing, and then back to hating on it again, he sure does spend a lot of time air time commenting on it.  Roll Eyes

Charts suggest bitcoin could rally over the next few months but likely won’t reach old highs, Jim Cramer says

Some calculations based on the prolific posting habits of JayJuanGee

Based on the profile of JJG he has made 25 491 posts to date at the time of this post.
With an estimated average word count of 400 words per post:
25 491 * 400 =  10 196 400 total words posted

Assuming an average typing speed of 40 words per minute:
10 196 400 / 40 =  254 910 minutes spend typing posts (Excludes time spent formatting posts and reading replies)
or 254 910 / 60 =  4 248.50 hours
or 4 248.50 / 24 = 177.02 days

JJG started posting on bitcointalk on 18 February 2014, or 3 047 days ago.
254 910 minutes / 3047 days = 83.66 minutes per day on average spent typing posts

A typical book has 300 words per page: The Bitcointalk book of JJG would be a monster at 10 196 400/400 = 25 491 pages long or 2.55 meters thick from front cover to back.

This is the definition of POW.

I am hoping someone can parse the data and calculate an average word count per post. It might be even more than 400, although he might have become more wordy as the price of bitcoin increased over the years. A chart of JJG average monthly word count compared to the deviation from the 200wma might be insightful.  Grin

Except it's not only Bitcoin that has had a decline this ugly.

Facebook / Meta, Netflix, Peleton.

Some of which have seen bigger declines. Is he saying all these companies are dead in the water and will never rally again also? Why only Bitcoin?
It is much easier for me to acquire and hodl Bitcoin than a share in these companies.

If you had listened to these types of false prophets and say sold Amazon at the bottom after the dot com crash you would have shot yourself or the Jim Cramer type of false predictor in the face less than 20 years later.

Hey, a fresh page without a Death Wish lecture.

Observing walls of Death Wish posts primarily about Bitcoin, followed by relief rallies of posting about trends in Death Wish posts.  Torque and fillippone are thrilled by your TA.  The CEO of Bitcoin has accordingly retitled the thread; @infofront, try to keep up, will ya?

Don’t worry.  My most recent posting spree is only a dead cat bounce, caused by JayJuanGee’s speculation and sentiment analysis of Death Wish.  The long-term trend in Death Wish posts is deflationary, due to the hardcapped supply of my time and energy.  There is only one of me; and unlike Bitcoin, I am unforkable.  (Tried it; didn’t work.)

I apologize for my habit of sometimes making long, off-topic posts about Bitcoin in the Death Wish Observer thread.

Ah, TA of JJG.  Accordingly, JJG is the quote currency in the new topic title.  As per the orders of the CEO of Bitcoin.

40 words per minute is a slow typing speed.  A proficient typist can do >100 WPM—unless suffering catastrophic bodily health problems to a degree that would inhibit, or even prohibit normal typing, like Hal.  There is no evidence that JJG is slowed down or obstructed by such issues; and in the absence thereof, time spent typing is a relatively minor marginal cost.

You omit any estimate of the largest time cost in making long, high-quality posts:  Editing.  In my own experience, editing takes at least an order of magnitude longer than writing; and usually, the higher quality the result, the longer the time spent editing.

All professional-grade writing software has wordcount as a basic feature.  Too bad this forum lacks that feature.

My own posting habits here are predicted to be like altcoins:  Wildly volatile, with blow-off tops exceeding JJG.  But JJG is likely to stay close to his 200 WMA, while my output here may sometimes go to zero.

Yeah, but DeMark is right. Bitcoin will never see its last ATH ever again. I don't understand how that isn't obvious to everyone at this point. I mean, ok, sure, maybe in 2072 bitcoin will be worth "$69k", which will be about what a pack of skittles costs on mars. We have to face the reality of the science and math now. The crypto experiment has failed. USD is a safer "investment" than bitcoin at this point.
