KATIE THE RUSSIAN and JESSICA HODLR say that in Texas there is already an underground fortress event for Bitcoiners who want to learn to build a sovereign life and to help achieve more freedom from the existing system. Underground Fort is designed as the best place for Bitcoiners to connect with like-minded people where they can build their own tribe. The goal is for only two things and it makes a lot of sense to me:
  • BUILDING THE UNDERGROUND CITADEL
  • FINDING THE BEAUTIFUL LIFE

Source: https://bitcoinmagazine.com/culture/building-a-sovereign-bitcoin-life

Why does it seem to me that this is more of a "how to build a fallout shelter" than a "how to live unbanked" - kind of event?

I'm also confused about that because the article doesn't mention about bank accounts so you can imagine that those who are taking refuge will leave their place when they want to open an account or get in touch with the bank for certain things. And I also never thought about how to live in the shelter, because so far I personally only live in an ordinary environment with state law protection as usual.

ESG, KYC & AML are attack vectors on Bitcoin

Well, As a Bitcoiner. I would always recommend Bitcoin.
But, I didn't hate ETH, to be honest. Because it was 2nd coin on the top 10 list and it has PoW at least.
Now, I would recommend everyone not to trust ETH anymore.

Proof of Stake made it centralized and the blockchain vulnerable. Two major Stakeholders control 47% of ETH. Meanwhile, Gas fees, Network congestion and speed remain the same. So, What was the purpose of ETH 2.0? Fuck Vitalik.

It has a similar purpose as it always had whether it was POW or POS.. it did not matter.  Its purpose was to allow it facilitate the pumping of a variety of scams, including pumping itself to appear that there was something there when there was not.  That piece of shit is not dead, and it is still going to get pumped and convoluted into presenting itself as if it were something that has value and potential.

Likely for the past 6-7 years many of us participating in this thread have been thinking that Ethereum could have a rapid death at any moment, and people don't really believe that nonsense do they?  But alas.. people continue to believe that nonsense and continue to pump money into a thing that has been a convoluted mess from the start and continues to be some variation of the convoluted mess that it always has been, but still people continue to buy it... so how would any of us here know how long such ongoing smoke and mirror card house can keep going?  maybe another 10-30 years? perhaps?

The regular money is not real, but bitcoin is real.

I agree with most of what you have said except this. Regular money is real. At least till now. If not, Why do you Compare your Bitcoin with USD? Why this Wall Observer of BTC/USD? Well, I would say accept the existence of Real money. If there is no crowd and no one to rule. What is the benefit of being a king?

Sorry, $20 bucks in my pocket are real this very moment as far as me buying a lunch with it, but the BIG money is not.
Observe:

Where the extra $5 trillions from Jan 2020 to Jan 2021 came from?
From just arbitrarily writing a few numbers into the ledger, no doubt.
Does this feel 'real' to you?
Seems more like a fantasy of a feel-good illusion, which is now playing out in strange ways.

Merit abuse.I think he is abusing the merit of being a senior member. He gave him 21 merits for a simple post. WOW thread a Senior members are given merit if they post any kind of posts. I think if senior members give merit to a new member's post then he will try to post better.

Feels like global markets are in free fall. Luckily job markets are strong so people aren’t losing their homes yet. I think the worst is yet to come, but that should be good news for anyone looking to accumulate Bitcoin. It is starting to look like things might get pretty bad over the next few months. Maybe not a bad time for a long vacation in the woods.

They keep saying...institutions, regulations, etc etc.
The regular money is not real, but bitcoin is real.
So it is understandable that people with fake money want to disparage "real money".
However, the "fake money people" have power.
It might take 40 year for that power to slowly seep from the "fake money" to "real money" and if it doesn't and they succeed in corrupting bitcoin, then the current fin system might not able to survive.

I am just going to 'hibernate' and wait; the trend should become visible in 10-20 years or so.

I came to this very conclusion myself around 6 months ago.
Unfortunately being a little "over the hill" means I can't really afford to keep waiting for everyone to wake up.
Looks like I will be taking my BTC with me to the grave :-(
