fair enough, I'm think more along the lines of Philip has X amount (cash in hand) he's comfortable putting into bitcoin and how best to go about that. to which i say put in half Now and hope that it dips below where you bought so he can put in the rest.
Ok.. well that's a different scenario is someone actually has some amount of money in cash that they are figuring out what to do with... so in that situation, you and I would not be very far apart in terms of trying to figure out the different categories of ways to invest it. It's a different story if you had an investment fund that was already invested in a variety of assets, versus if you have no investments...
But if we are only considering the amount to either stay in cash or go into bitcoin, then part of the consideration is whether we buy now, whether we defer some of the buying and whether we buy on dips.. so generally speaking though, I am thinking that if we have a lump of cash that is all of a sudden available and already authorized for bitcoin, but just a matter of when or if to hold in reserves, then most likely we would make an initial presumptive division into the three default categories which is lump sum, DCA and buy on dip... but of course, those do not necessarily need to be equally divided and the decision could be to allocate one or the other category to zero, but as a presumptive default they might each be equally allocated, and then if there is a reason to weigh more in one direction or another than that can be fairly easily decided based on individual weighing of what are the other aspects of the finances and psychology and maybe any two people would differ in their results or maybe they come out with similar results but for different reasons.

A little less cocky about the guaranteed "down before up," no? We've heard that "down before up" one a million-ish times in these parts, and it is guaranteed, until it is not... which can be an issue... and sometimes contributes towards everlasting psychological damage to those who continue to tell us that it is going back down.. Jonoiv is not the only cocky-ass disappeared member with that issue. I think that he is still waiting for sub-$2k because he was too greedy and too smart to buy back in when the price went to sub $4k in March 2020.
