The @bitstamp team is working around the clock to restore services to customers as soon as possible. More to do, but testing is going well.

still waiting

I was just reading an old thread about people selling IOU's for coins stuck in MtGox. It was ugly...

I almost jumped on that, the return was very tempting. I think like 10:1

Ditto.
I thought wait a minute if I do this then I will be in a real long return period, and looking back on it was a wise move to not take that risk even at 10:1.
I haven't been keeping up with gox so not sure if they ever converted the retrieved coins to fiat
If it was in BTC lol. If it was in Fiat still bad but at those hedge ratios still not worth it ^^.

There seems to have been many tempting opportunites to have lost your shirt along the way here. I wonder if I would have fallen in with that Pirateat40 guy and lost mine. Or pre-ordered hardware that never paid off. It was a jungle in here Undecided

I think with Pirate he had a thread like so many you see "I have a way to make you money, give me your bitcoins". The only people who made any money on that were taking such a huge risk by being the initial people to give him bitcoins. Then as they started getting returns they verified that it was "legitimate" and others started sending him their bitcoins. Those first people are probably the only ones that didn't lose their shirts. By the time it seemed "safe" (because of so many claiming they were getting what they were promised) the money was gone.

I think MtGox was still up when they were doing that, you just couldn't get your coins or cash out. They were using MtGox points/rewards/whichever to transfer the funds.

Trendon Shavers I think was his name. I mentioned it once in the Cryptodouble thread. Nobody seemed too concerned. I guess these things are cyclical Embarrassed

Yah it was during the withdrawal period where coins were not allowed out because of (Malleability) issues but the sites tradebooks were up and running with the price going into that crazy insanity then crash and burn wipeout good times

(Lol sort of back at that rally price now)

Yeh, it was something like that. I guess this would have to be some sort of straight up betting site, with a trusted escrow. Someone will do it if the demand is there.

Seems a bit premature to me ATM TBH. I am still optimistic that even though there may be some sort of run on Stamp , people will get their money and coins back. I certainly hope so anyway  Smiley
Perhaps I am naive. We will see ...
And no, I am not blinded by having anything stuck there.

I hear ya, I just can't decide on a buy price.... $250 is cheap coins. $300 isn't cheap  coinz these days

300 is crazy expensive. That's why traders are pushing it down to 250. But by then 250 will be crazy expensive.

Well, it´s looking like a negligable diff. increase

Dec 30 2014   40,640,955,017   290,919,288 GH/s

now 294,743,941 GH/s

That +10% is meaningless
