wtf i dont get why i get so much heat every time i suggest that improvements can be made and scalability can be overcome.

you trolls are paid by blockstream or something...

There are such things as assholes in this world.

If something like 15% of the real world population is an asshole, the number must be approaching at least 40% on the internet.

And maybe 80% on the wall observer... Cheesy

That's already a [as always, poorly documented] Bitcoin feature @ the protocol level.

i'm confident devs will implement a happy middle ground

As long as they keep the NSA backdoor and doomsday code, who cares what happens to the block size?

Every now and again there are blocks mined with no transactions included in them. Whoever mines them doesn't care about the transaction fees, they only want their 25 Bitcoins for mining a block. Zero transactions = more profit for them. The rest of the blocks mined have varying numbers of transactions, but some are close to the 1 MB limit. If the number of transactions doubles a solution will be forced on the community.

There are several solutions that exist already, but there is no agreement on which one or whether to implement them. The incentive to agree on a solution will be greater, but it's pretty damn big already and far from finding common ground, the various factions are becoming more entrenched in their positions.

The rough consensus governance model has a flaw that is getting more obvious by the day.

Do you think 350$ is the big support now? We should push 400$ before it will be a resistance.

I think they wait until bank transfers are through from the winners before they start moving coins. It will be after the weekend before the Feds get paid, and I doubt those Bitcoins will move before then unless they split them up in preparation for paying to the winners.

Does anyone have a link to who were the bidders?  The quantity of bidders and any description of who they represent?

That information has never been released, and the USMS says it won't be.

After the first auction, someone submitted a FOIA request to the USMS for them to release that information (FOIA = US Freedom of Information Act).  The last news I read, a couple of months later, were that the request was still unanswered (thus stretching if not violating the FOIA).

Yes, when the government is involved, then there is a public interest involved regarding the transparency of the process, and if the information is not going to be released, then a prompt and reasonable explanation concerning why should be provided.
