Get ready for the "temporary halt on withdrawals while we fix a technical glitch" notices followed by Scottish guys pitching their tents up around Exchange HQ with "give us our bitcoin back" plackards around their necks  Cheesy

God knows how someone who hodls a huge amount is feeling. I have a reasonable amount and it hurts even though I don't trade or plan to sell anytime soon.

I don't have a vast amount but I feel nothing. I'm waiting until 2020 or so to see where we're at. I think by then it'll be clear enough whether Bitcoin has a long term future or not. Until then it's all short term adventures.

Same here. I set aside a small percentage for trading, but the vast majority is in cold storage. I am going down with the ship, if btc goes bust. I might start selling a bit at 5K+

Seeing how all the FUD spammers are having such a jolly time, maybe I should join in.

Just one more leg down.

that would be a huge leg, though. 780 is a huge critical point.

this is where the bears have to blow all the powder.

750$, even high 600$ can't be ruled out imho.

So here we go.
I'm buying back all the way down from here (755$).

Been there, done that a coupla times already in 2013. And hodling through that has been the most profitable thing I ever made in my life.

While this huge drop may seem like an opportunity, my gut intuition says we may be seeing some exchanges go belly up. I am keeping all my bitcoins under my own control for a while.

Are you still feeling happy jimbo? Buying them all up at these low prices?

If it drops more I may join you.

Expecting a decent bounce up somewhere between 740$  and 757$.
Then we'll see.

Here is the bounce.
755$ -> 780$ already.
Can go up to about 800$, but i guess it'll lose steam by then.
let's see.

I certainly don't plan to go down with the ship, but if by 2020-24 there's still no prospect of scaling, better exchanges, clarified government positions and some actual adoption then I'll be off before the iceberg looms.

Well the positive side....

This isn't boring. We know bitcoin is volatile and it's proving this right now.

bitfinex is spread all over the world as far as i can tell. there certainly won't be one office they can drop in on and get all the info they want. they also have nothing to do with cny.

I've been wondering about those huge gaps between the Huobi price and the rest of the market during the last month.

Ominously relevant observation from the past. Listen carefully  Wink

Well, an extra early good morning Bitcoinland. Don't normally keep farmers' hours but my sleep routine got a little upset by staying up most of night with a chick on Monday. Good thing too. I have just enough time to go pick up some fiat before my favorite off-exchange Bitcoin vendor opens for business.

Seems we dropped another $100 on news of the PBOC "investigation" going "local"... currently $816 (Bitcoinaverage). Keep buying the dips.

If you are investing long term why do you check the price daily? Price right now shouldn't matter to you.  Huh Huh Huh

The most important reason is to catch the buyable dips. Snooze, you lose.

Apart from that, it's entertaining.

This is certainly a "buyable" dip, yet the only question is at what point(s) to lock in the buy(s).
