Looks like Roach was right guys. Should I buy 100 pounds of gold to carry around with me as I travel the world instead of bitcoins?

''One clarification that often gets left out of this debate is that a better version of PayPal can be built on top of Bitcoin (ie.via Lightning) in a situation where the base layer is used for the digital gold use case. But it doesn’t work the other way around — you can’t build a more secure system on top of a less secure base.''  https://www.forbes.com/sites/ktorpey/2017/11/09/failure-segwit2x-shows-bitcoin-digital-gold-not-paypal/#7938e5972233

Thats about the size of it for me at this point in time.

Might be hard to break a gold coin. Perhaps you should also travel with 1000 pounds of silver just to be safe.

Which pretty much mirrors every 3- and 4- tier application stack ever devised by man. Including the existing world financial system. They are architected that way because common sense and logic. There are reasons why nothing typically hits a secure database layer directly, including providing greater scalability.

People...don't be in panic, and don't sell your Btc, and don't sell and buy other coins trying to earn because the reality is that you will lose, if you are not a professional trader then be quiet, be calm...and forget this till december or next year...i am newbie in this forum but i have a lot of time in this bitcoin ecosystem and developing in the blockchain  Wink

Panic only newbies for whom 7% drop is the end of the world. We have to wait and hodl. The depth of the market swings again in favour of the demand and miners seeking daily profit switched to BCH. I guess that BTC price will recover in matter of several days or even hours.  Tongue

Somehow the fear isn't quite the same when the price falls from $7200 to $6700 as when it fell from $2000 to $1500 or so.
It'll probably swing back to $7000+ in the next hour or so. I don't buy at these kind of prices, but I don't think this is the beginning of the end either!

Bitcoin Cash has had a big day though, I guess that was to be expected after 2x was cancelled, strange that it took so long though.

Maybe that is to do with 2000 to 1500 is a 25% drop?   The same drop from 7200 would take us down to 5400....  I know its stating the obvious, but....

Yeah and a few barrels of crude oil.  You can trade that almost anywhere.

Hum, I think around the 13th of this month there will be a good opportunity to dump our remaining BCH for BTC. The insane BCH pumping during these days points there, it will be almost 0.09 BTC per BCH right now and it keeps rising lol, that will not last too much after both drama forks end Smiley

Well well, today i woke up and my selling order for my remaining BCH at 0.125 BTC/BCH has been filled! Seems that maybe it will rise a little bit more, but this is enough for me Smiley

Balls, we are going to 5xxx. I'll wait for the dead cat to sell the play btc Sad

There’s always good buying opportunities at times like this, especially if it goes to 5xxx. Don’t be the idiot(s) who sell at the bottom.

If it follows the old patterns, we'll go up again for a short while before going full bear and I'll sell there (not my actual BTCs that are hidden away in case I have any bad ideas). Hopefully we recover by EOY!

My predictions are pretty crappy and unreliable at best, but this one makes sense I think - would be great to hear other opinions

On the other hand, I really look forward to a 5k dip as I just received my Wirex card, would be a good top-up point  Grin Grin

Please don't carry crude oil around.  That colorless hydrogen sulfide will kill you soon enough.
