According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Yes, the split already happened. The launch and the split are on different dates.

Yeah, they need that extra time to get their massive pre-mine completed first.  Tongue

Bearish af Cry

The irony when no more splits means people dont want to hold Bitcoin as much LOL      I not sure this qualifies as bearish yet, just a pullback which can be healthy within an uptrend.

I drew in a channel moving down, its a moderate pace.   We are near bottom of that channel, I'll wait to see how it reacts.   Below us is some fib support of 6523, initial upside target is 7300

https://medium.com/@coinomi/collecting-your-free-bitcoin-gold-btg-coins-da937d4255d1

1. Extract your private keys for your pre-fork BTG coins by following the appropriate steps in the list of providers below.

- Electrum
1) Open the menu "View" and click on "Show Addresses"
2) Then open the new tab "Addresses"
3) Right-click on the addresses that had Bitcoin before the fork, then click "Private key".
4) Click on the qrcode icon to show it.

Now that you got your private key(s) for the address(es) that contained BTC prior to the fork of August 1st:

2. Create a BCG wallet in coinomi.

3. Click on .../Sweep Wallet and paste or scan the BTC private key that you obtained in step 1.

Your forked coins should now appear in your Coinomi BCG wallet

I HODL. Funny no issues since BTC in 2013 of friends and family saying I don’t take risks.

The crazy train however with them is still on the table.

Bitcoin has been above $6000 a total of 17 days.

Above $7000 only 9 days.

This looks like a healthy correction establishing a new floor around $6500. Maybe even retest $6000.

I still think $10,000 by Jan 2018.

Good morning Bitcoinland.

We finally got something close to a buying opportunity, not a proper deep dip but possibly our last chance to buy under $7k.

I got in while it was just under $6.8k but didn't buy a lot. Now it's back up over $6.9K... currently $6928USD/$8783CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Meanwhile AltCash is on the rise... currently $812USD/$1029CAD (Coinmarketcap).

Now if Bitcoin can get back on track without AltTrash crashing to badly, dual holders will be sitting pretty.

If it is on your computer you should be able to do this i think. I don't think you have to be online to see your keys, anyway, just follow the steps and see if your keys appear.

Looks like Roach was right guys. Should I buy 100 pounds of gold to carry around with me as I travel the world instead of bitcoins?

Might be hard to break a gold coin. Perhaps you should also travel with 1000 pounds of silver just to be safe.

Yeah and a few barrels of crude oil.  You can trade that almost anywhere.

Please don't carry crude oil around.  That colorless hydrogen sulfide will kill you soon enough.

Glad I checked this before finalizing my transaction with that Saudi prince. Thank you!

Why didn't release any desktop app, all bcg wallets are mobile apps. interesting..

Looks like someone is here just for the money. But cynical would be who notice it, according that someone.

replace 2x with "2 times" if you're confused
