with 50% of posts pushing PMs, 25% about how crypto currency is not decentralized, and 20% about killing jews, i really don't feel like sifting through all that crap searching for that remaining 5%

The answer you seek can be found in the Zerohedge comment section:

All hail leader of the white race, Vlad Putin.

I personally don't mind the endless PM shilling - its kinda cute really in an old school sense.

The Jewish/Zionist stuff and the misogyny acts as sort of a cherry on top of it all.

The bitcoin bashing is just plain boring.

the question I have is this

mine LTC....pay my income tax on this...say 25% of what was mined....sell on coinbase....and pay (if less than a year) 40% capital gains tax

but

If I mine LTC and pay income tax on this ...again 25% but xfer the LTC to BTC I am hit with another 40% capital gains because in 2018 it is gonna act like cash

and no like kind?

or did I miss something

(if above is correct now I know why BTC and cypto's are crashing)

in USA

Few people pay tax from there bitcoin holdings. And no it doesn't work that way either.

I am fearful that what he says is close to the truth:

No it is true.
http://fortune.com/2017/12/21/bitcoin-tax/

But you would pay capital gains on the gains only when you convert.

Thus if you mine it’s the full value since it starts st $0.  So 20k BTC would be 20K of gains when mined and realized into dollars or another crypto.  Then say ya then have 20k of LTC.  If you trade that again to BTC when it’s now worth 25K in LTC/BTC, then u have to pay short or long term gains on that new 5k.

It isn’t double taxation, but it is now an event that triggers the tax.  Used to be only when pulling into fiat.

Good Lord what a load of bendover bunnies in this thread.
This bitcoin thread.
Talking about paying tax to nation states.
It's not even quaint any more; it's sickening.
Pay your taxes to the bitcoin foundation like a normal bitcoiner and stop colluding with the enemy please and thank you.

Just found a stack of paper wallets from 2015. I was giving away 0.05 Bitcoi in each and these were the leftovers. It’s a nice find I didn’t know I had it....

Yep.   All of a sudden scrap amounts become real money.

It is kind of bullshit, though, regarding how some of these people treat their gifts, and I have a few war stories regarding that too.

My friend recently contacted me, and told me that he was looking for his son's $40 bitcoin transaction that I had sent for a graduation gift.

Mind you I sent $40 to the son and $10 to the dad, in order that they could, perhaps, learn together about bitcoin.  The price was around $380 at the time... So, a couple of times a year, I would remind him about bitcoin and ask him if he had retrieved the bitcoin... did it through Circle....  He said, yeah, yeah, yeah, he still has access to the e-mail account, and just a few weeks ago when he contacted me, he asked me if I could recover the coins because he said that he did not have access to the e-mail accounts.  The son's value was something like $1,740 and the dads value was something like $440.  Crazy.  I think that they lost everything, unless they can regain access to their earlier e-mails, perhaps there is a way... I think that it was a private domain e-mail that their family administrator allowed the domain to expire.

Thats really sucks, that is the problem with most people. They don't take it seriously thta they are their own bank. They are the ones who need to care for coins, theres nobody who would help them. I feel so bad when I hear stories like this really it like pissis me off because people don't wanna listen...

there are loads of stories from old jews who said they should and could have stood up to the Nazis to stop them being herded off...
also Russians with respect to Stalin's goons.
if one of us gets the knock on the door and doesn't fight to the death, we all end up in the gulag/big zone.

what they are going to send the bobbies around to ask nice?

The US government does things differently.  I'm not saying I disagree with you, just that it is easy to say from your perch.

Xmas time/holidays actual transactions are low and spam can't keep the blocks full. You might wanna ping your overlords to ramp up those spam bots. Otherwise, we'll see cheap transaction on the BTC again which would make Bcash redundant (and absorb its market cap) even before LN gets here (hopefully by end of '18)

tl;dr need more real money to pay electricity bills for those bcash miners, and to fill up BTC blocks with spam pronto! Otherwise BTC moons
