There's always something shady happening in Bitcoin. Looks like Finex ran out of Tethers. It's all peculiar all the time.

any theories on why bitfinex is now bearfinex ?

drama soon ?
Nope, bullish Finex loadup soon?

Bitfinex being Bearfinex is a point in favour of Tether being a non-issue

I dont short bitcoin, or anything, ever. With a short you can make a limited gain and an infinite loss. It makes no sense. As for bitcoin the most bearish possible position I allow myself to have is to have 20% BTC and 80% fiat. It's why I'm still here.

I say Bitfinex is goxy solely because I've been watching the trading for several days and made these observations:
-Periods of lag
-Periods of disappearing volume - I assume because traders cannot access the exchange
-Moving walls
-Continuously shrinking order book
-Huge arb below other exchanges
-Banned US traders

I dont get why this is such a touchy subject when I mention it. I thought all of you hated Finex too.

Every subject is touchy on the way down. I learned that years ago. But I for one am bloody curious.

Do they have a WillBot manipulating the price?
Do they have a single person running the company that can make a run for the door?

If there is a shortage of tether I guess that explains the low prices on Poloniex too?

They secretly report to Mark Karpeles himself. :p

Nah, every red candle gets bought back aggresively, so a bullish continuation is likely. Its just a normall downmove, thats all. Bitcoin has made 5 a 6 of such downmoves within this year. Its normall. Gaps between exhanges have been around for years also. Gdax, Bitfinex, Korean exchanges. Those prices have always been a bit different.
