Totally expecting a squeeze, though may have a little more doom first, still soggy at this level, maybe between here and $3150 ish we could have the squeeze.. then renewed doom

Perhaps... though ultimately I think we break these lows again still

More pain to come, capitulation and panic has not occurred to take the momentum out of this slide and form a solid bottom

You lose smaller on bear market than in bull.

(snip)

Don't give up on your coin so easily.

Say you had a finite amount of fiat to invest; make it US$30k -
You spend US$30k to get ten US$3k Bitcoin which subsequently drop in value to US$2k Bitcoin - you would be hodling Bitcoin worth US$20k of your initial US$30k investment.
OR you spend US$30k to get two US$15k Bitcoin which subsequently devalue to US$10k Bitcoin - you would be hodling Bitcoin worth US$20k of your initial US$30k investment.

Are you saying you "lose smaller" psychologically or am I so burned out from working night shifts that I am unable to comprehend a bigger picture here?  I can't see the difference.
No difference if you account in fiat. The accounting unit makes the difference. Lucid Homer should know better. Capitulating, are we?  Tongue

why ETH falls stronger than bitcoin? Competitor's problems should be beneficial, not the other way around
Competitor? Which competitor? Ah, ETC, right.

I guess competitor's problems could be beneficial in a closed system - one without inlets and outlets. But ETC's problems weren't too beneficial, I reckon. Therefore, it's not a closed system.

Dipping toe for 2nd time this year.. ($3400)

Potentially for a flip on a squeeze

Have a few more orders placed between $3300 and $3000 to catch any more dip before a potential short squeeze/relief rally (if we rally from here I will then cancel these in the interim whilst awaiting the next dooom and re assess depending on the squeeze/relief rally, should it occur here)

Still have original orders in place between $1150 and $2875

Thanks for the hope, guys. I am waiting for that short squeeze with a giddy heart so I can finally freeze some profit.

I think alevlaslo meant Bitcoin as Ethereum's competitor... it's the false thinking that every coin is a competitor of each other. Since Bitcoin is falling, there are a few people who believe other coins should rise, but most of us understand why this is not how things work.
I don't think Bitcoin has a competitor though, it's like the father of every coin.

As for Ethereum, its only real competitor for me is ARK. ARK supports Smart Contracts on Javascript, Go, and Solidity, it connects different blockchains together with Smart Bridges, provides (will provide?) easy to use plugins for sidechains and forks, lower/dynamic fees... it's everything Ethereum should have been losing only in fame!

It's not buying more BTC now what worries me. It's the idea that maybe I could buy more for the same money if it keeps dropping.

I just don't think the bottom must be far from here. If it it is.... well, shit happens.

I guess one difference with 2014 is that back then, people were considering it a possibility BTC could dissapear slowly and die.
Whereas now, people know BTC is here to stay (at least for some time to come) with all the nasdaq, ETF things going on.
A possible recession could indeed slow things down, curious to see how it reacts.

People dont know. Yes in this thread or this forum, many knows. But general public sees Bitcoin totally same as in 2015.  And not to mention they will see Bitcoin like this most of next year.

You will have this sensation and we all have it whenever there is such an aggressive descent.
Except those who mined or bought for 2 or 3 digits.
But a bad trading operation can leave you out and lose all the expected profit.
You know that, you are not a novice.
Better buy a little each time you go down, the amount does not have to hurt the family economy.

Good morning guys.

Capitulation continues as another round of sell offs rages through the Cryptosphere. Bitcoin has reached a new 14 month low of $3.3k following a day of trading on declining volumes.

You know, when you're the last whale standing in a thin bear market, and you have lots of coins and $$$, I'm sure it's pretty easy to push the market around in any direction you want. For however long you want.

That direction only ends when that person or group decides it should, or gets mega squeezed.
