the return to ATH on BTC starts here!
(3....2....1....) engage!
where's that suddenly bullishness coming from?? unrecognisable ? Sorry....backslid... I am bipolar in my attempts to understand bitcoin... I did, however, get back 4 BTC or so of my panic sell like a 9-year-old girl dump at $3,695, so due to real-world issues am ONLY down 8 BTC (was the right thing to do in hindsight...selling those 8 BTC at the time... but stings yet) BUT NOW ALL IS FORGIVEN..... the price is at $3,975...thus an entire $10 above the above price I sold on my 'slip of faith' so surely, BTC will pump to the ATH now? right? I mean it is $10 more now, surely, that is a sign from the crypto gods to an ATH with BTC right? (consider the source however sitting in underwear, retired 3 years early on crypto, typing this on bitcointalk...watching it snow 9" now with another 9" to 12" this weekend... I may be delusional because of 'excessive winter' FYI) brad

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in
Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it
will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

I'm done spreading fud, I don't want to ruffle anymore feathers. I still think bitcoin is overhyped but I suppose the market has declared it has a value which is basically a store of digital gold at this point.

will see were you go from here..... better start with buying some, then read and learn why there is a possible hype and if its maybe more then just a hype (could be the real deal even for someone that used to be a nocoiner)

Replace merits with Lightning tips lol Out of merits, but it's an excellent idea. I wouldn't count on it : The forum will never hold users’ money.
Right, I was just about to post that. People are free to open LN channels and send tips if they so choose.
LN is probably unsuitable for tips since the recipient has to be online. That's why these LN tipbots all hold your money, which I'm not a fan of. If you're using LN through a trusted third party, then you're better off not using it at all.

2014 fractalPurple line is 2019 200 Week Moving Average. Green is 2019 price. Blue line is 2014/15 price lined up with 2014/15 200 Week Moving Average. It looks like we are front running the 2014/15 crypto winter model by 1 - 2 months. Bullish. Still more dippity doo das ahead but nothing we can't handle easily. Flippening the Moving AveragesGreen is 30 Daily MA Yellow is 50 Daily MA Orange is 100 Daily MA Red is 200 Daily MA During a bull run, the MAs are stacked in order, green on top, followed by yellow, orange and red. See left side of chart. During a bear run, the MAs flip, green on bottom, followed by yellow above, then orange and red. Today, we currently have a full flip with green on bottom, yellow above, orange then red. BUT within one or two weeks, if we can just hold the current price, we should get a partial flip back, with green above yellow above orange (a golden cross on all of 30 MA, 50 MA and 100 MA). That would only leave red on top. Then, if we can hold this price for another month or two, we should be able to flip red back under the other MAs, putting us in bull run formation. It won't necessarily be this fast or easy - but something that I am watching closely.

March should see a run at the 200MA, so that entirely possible, I reckon. Maybe a bit higher - but not for long, I am guessing a mid-march peak and then down to about 4K again by April. We are set for an undulating time this year. Five figure stuff no earlier than November-ish.

MyEtherWallet (MEW), and crypto finance platform, Bity, have unveiled a fully-regulated crypto-to-fiat withdrawal system which doesn’t require users to pass Know-Your-Customer (KYC) checks. The “Exit-to-Fiat gateway” will allow cryptocurrency holders to exchange their digital assets, including Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether, into euros (EUR) or Swiss francs (CHF). The current limit for KYC-less transfer is anywhere up to 5,000 CHF, roughly $5,000 at the present exchange rate. “This Exit-to-Fiat gateway is a gamechanger for cryptocurrency users around the world because it allows people to exchange crypto to fiat without needing to be KYC verified,” said Kosala Hemachandra, CEO and Founder of MEW, in a press release. https://cryptobriefing.com/myetherwallet-kyc-less-exchange/

I think IOS/Android is already good enough if you only keep small amounts in your wallets and If samsung comes up with a very good security then they might even replace trezor&ledgers. I still wouldn't put more than a couple of hundreds on that phone but I also don't carry much cash with me anyway. So whether it is Galaxy S10 with super security or iphone 7 doesn't make much difference to me. If your phone gets stolen, your money is gone. The only difference is, the thief probably won't be able to steal your coins from the s10. I also don't think people would keep their life savings (like $50k or $500k) on that phone neither. Because no matter how good the security on that phone is, I wouldn't trust samsung. I don't trust trezor or ledger neither. So what's the point? The point would be to use it the same as you use your fiat pocket wallet. You just load it with enough for your everyday spending and reload it accordingly when needed. Convenience and limited risk. Advances like this, LN, etc... are the way to go for mainstream adoption IMHO.
