$2500000/$3860=648 BTC, only probably two-five thou people have that worldwide.
At 19780/btc it was 126 btc.
How times change.

These USD price levels don't currently support true "Fuck You Money" status, for dolphins, at least.

It's more "Hey, uhh, like, leave me alone. Dickhead" money.

yup

OK, one million? for one person middle age or older maybe it could be done but a millions bucks is nothing like what it once was. but with good planning and a restrained financial lifestyle i could be done. ration those "fuckyous" though, you wont have many.

to me 5 million USD is the ABSOLUTE LEAST amount where anyone can start to ignore most things and live passively the rest of their life. limited "fuckyou" stuff though.

25  mill USD? now yer talking. but keep going..

50 mil? ok thats decent,  pretty nice "fuckyou" allocation reached.

100 million.. THATS "fuckyou money

so we're back to the wholecoiner thing
3 or 4 halvings hence one bitcoin will easily be worth 100 million dollars in today's terms
in fact we'll most likely have won by then, so it'll be 1BTC = 1 county.

Let me see if I can describe what I mean by basic level entry level "fuck you-ness."

[...]

I was referring to "fuck you" as a personal statement and not a statement of wanting to create some kind of an extra self-fulfilling project.. that is like an additional layer of luxury that goes beyond the basics and is personal to you, and would not be within the entry level of "fuck you" status that I had been attempting to outline and conceive at the "any person" level.

ah. that explains our difference.

my "fuckyou" point is like state tax too high and regulation written like 4 years olds did it? fuck you state. sell/move everything: pick any state like thats less greedy/restrictive to move and just go.

weathers too cold? fuck you weather. hey i hear halfway round the planet is nice this time of year; instant 4-6 month vacation traveling the warmer climates.

someones properties has trees or structures that block your otherwise awesome view of nature? fuck you folks* name a price to sell your properties. ok here you go. ya got 3 months and then my crew comes in to make a more pleasant view for ourselves and our cats to look at.

* i would be more polite of course.

etc

6.2% annual interest for a Bitcoin account sounds appealing. The idea is good and may attract many investors. But what if BlockFi turns out to be the new Bitconnect? Who cares that it is backed by Gemini?Any thoughts on this?

seems untenable really.

but. i did look around the site. no taxable event moving a coin there (or out i presume?). interest paid in same crypto as deposit. 1099 tax form sent with interest made for tax purposes. so you are taxed only on the interest. not sure how they figure that in USD when interest was in btc..

if you dont mind losing it, might be worth a play (for some). 1 btc or 45 eth minimum.

of course "not you keys not your btc."

risky but if you dont mind losing it all it might be appealing to some. as it would earn 6% that the btc in yer cold wallet doesnt.

nice, till you lose 100% of it. ooops

I think 'Gemini backed' is disingenuous. They've been contracted for the job of coin parking. I presume they wouldn't have done it if Carlos Matos had been in the room. All the same it's not an endorsement as such.

One good thing to come out of the Bitconnect ponzi scam is that newbs are much more aware of it than pirate's ponzi scam, which taught the OGs to be very wary of such blatant nonsense.

I follow one simple rule. I never do any "business" with anyone if I don't understand their business model and exactly know how THEY are profiting in the dealing. As I can't see here how they could profit from it it's a no-go for me.

I would be very wary.
The amount of scams that have already taken place in the cryptoshpere is just downright scary.
Until these institutes can somehow prove that they won’t go under/CEO die and leave no access to his/her password, or whatever excuse they come up with for buggering off with peoples hard earned then I wouldn’t trust them.
After all, BTC was invented so we don’t need to trust anyone with our finances. You might as well go back to the banking system!
Remember, not your keys.....not your coins.

Edit: I think LastoftheV8s beat me to it and more elequently

agree.

i glanced briefly at the loan stuff that seems to enable this 6%. for loans, seems a lotta collateral needed and its current value compared to the remaining load amount is constantly reevaluated and may need additional collateral or payments at any time. and its high interest, but i dont remember the amount.

didnt really try running numbers (interest paid vs loans income) as im not that interested. maybe someone else could see if its even remotely possible with the numbers they give.

This is funded by lending out to traders like this - https://genesiscap.co - but with your money rather than their own in which case they can more than cover the interest payments. They should be buying their depositers a big present for the amount of money they'll make off them.

All that collaterallised loan stuff is separate.

Both Last of the V8s and now Lauda too are filing fake scam reports against people.  He's even filed a fake report against Jbreher for simply owning Bcash (no, I'm not a Bcash fan):

I came to understand, feedbacks which aren't related to trade or scam like activities shouldn't be left with a positive or negative tag. The third option which is the neutral feedback should be used in a case if you feel the need lo leave a feedback.
Which is false. Stop spreading misinformation.

Of course the scammer feedback system is not for completely arbitrary opinion bullshit like you don't like their taste in music or fashion so you give them a negative score.  It's pretty obvious Last of the V8s is abusing the system when he filed a scam report against Jbreher for simply owning Bcash (lol).  I could give two shits about Bcash, and Jbreher and I are not friends, but if you can file a scam report against someone for owning Bcash, then filing a scam report on people for owning Dogecoin or Monero would be valid too.

Hell, it would also be completely viable for me to file a scam report against EVERY SINGLE PERSON on the ENTIRE FORUM supporting bitcoin for being scammers because transaction validators are designed to centralize in every cryptocurrency and decentralization is a 100% completely unsolvable problem.  So do you really want to play by the rules you and Last of the V8s advocate now, Lauda?  I just noticed you left a fake scam report on my page too.

You're literally an ANTIFA member.  They're unable to win in any legit debate so their only valid tactic is to try and censor or practice defamation.  Just like you, Last of the V8s is also incapable of beating me in debate which is why he did this.  Nothing I've said is even false.  It's YOU that's spreading disinformation.  Creating a decentralized digital currency is 100% impossible, and any non-fungible currency is also a permissioned ledger by default, which is why I advocate physical metals.
