There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

"I'll buy at 10k."
"I'll buy at 5k."
"I'll buy at 4k."
"I'll buy at 3k."
- Family that never ended up buying bitcoin

No middle class family on the planet has any interest or capability in buying a $10,000 bitcoin.  They will just say "yea....fuck that" and essentially boycott it.  The financial system itself is based entirely around ripping off the middle class. Once there is nothing left to rip off from them (aka now) is when the system ends.  At that point you have a new Bretton Woods and go back to physical metals, otherwise there's a new dark ages.  Anyone claiming it's possible for Bitcoin to defeat metals as the base of Exter's Pyramid is a flat out liar.  Nations like China and Russia have already cast the die.

Ehi WO, why so slow today?
Here’s something fun: yesterday while browsing down the Bitcoin rabbit hole I stumbled on the infamous keys.lol website:

https://keys.lol
(Warning: time sink!)

Basically it’s a website that randomly generates 128 private keys on each page, then checks the balance of the related addresses (compressed and uncompressed) on the blockchain reporting eventual positive balances or past transactions.

Wow!
If you find a positive balance in this client side generated pages, you are actually owner of the private keys, so you are legitimate owner of such balance, and nothing prevents you from transferring to your own wallet.
The story doesn’t end here... I wrote a post about it here...

nice project!

I run a program on my server which does the same. It checks about 150 addresses per second. It's now running for a few months and I have not found a single wallet with a positive balance.

Reading that post you should realise you are wasting electricity.  At least you should consider joining LBC.

it's not a waste at all. it's running on my 24/7 bitcoin node and it has about 3% cpu usage.

But you post is really great to comprehend this big numbers. I know that my chance to find something is almost zero, but the server is running nevertheless.

I think we knew this all along. The Goose is The Master Market Manipulator.

His poker parties are attended by the Arthur Hayes and John Jansens of this world, dazzled by The Cryptoqueeen and nervous of the dogs. That little one most of all.

Phil Potter rings him up and begs him to print more Tethers 'for the Asian investors, ya know'. The answer is always 'Show me your numbers, Potter, show me your numbers or gtfo.'

theymos private messages him on this very forum 'May I pump Grin again on the 3rd at 10pm, Mr. Goossens, Sir? Please.'

His alts are spread far and wide. Those Hairy charts: you wondered how some bumbling colonial could come up with that? mikeywith, annoymint, masterluc - all The Goose. Only Toxic holds out now, but being not a limey fella, he can easily be bought off with a trip to Macau to see what a real city is.

In time, students will flock to universities that have courses in Goosenomics, and he will rightfully be recognised not just as the greatest trader of all time, but as The Beneficial Manipulator, Exchange Dominator and Bull-Of-All-Bulls.

lol that government troll roach never heard of otc trading

There's no such thing as an "otc trading" workaround.  Digital shitcoins are tracking systems that abolish the 5th amendment while also being designed to centralize and running on the government's own infrastructure in unobfuscated form.  Bitcoin can't go 'underground' because it's a god damn digital tracking and slavery system resembling something the IRS itself would create.  It got by early on because it was small cap.  It would be permanent swat teams for all at mainstream adoption.

@Hairy, what’s your prediction for $100,000, as in time frame?

13 September 2021

Oh yeah I forgot to mention.  We are pretty much about the level we should be at, at or just before the halvening.

One year old, but still a good read with a neutral stance - every thesis is contrasted with an anti-thesis.

Nice to see you still around these parts Roach. How's that silver going? I presume making massive gains along with Bitcoin right? hahahaha. It's going to be fun when the bitcoin price is back to the ATH isn't it, just imagine how pathetic your comments, and your life, will be then.

I have problems keeping up with all these forks. I put my BTC on a paper wallet back in 2014. What forks do I get now for that? BCash, BGold. Do I also get BTC SV? Since I still have no BCash because I did not move my BTC since 2014.

First make sure that you transfer/sweep ALL of btc to a new wallet first.
Even experienced people sometimes forget about change, make a small tx, then proceed to lose the rest of it.
https://bitcoinpaperwallet.com/wallet-tutorial-add-withdraw-funds/

cant stress this enough, as i almost screwed up with a paper wallet before i understood that some clients handle it ok (sends the change back to the original addy), some dont (change can become part of the miner fees for that block). luckily the client i used sent the change back to the original addy. but i sure was sweating until i saw the change back at the original addy.

so for paper wallets, just sweep all the entire balance of a paper wallet to the new addy. take no chances. even if the client handles the change ok you still have published the pubic key for that addy which reduces security and privacy.

I seem to be getting discredited & trolled by a couple of the least respected (with the worst trust scores) people on the entire forum.

There’s a thread about me started by one of cryptohunter’s alts & every time somebody posts something positive about me he deletes it (it’s a self moderated thread).

I’ve had no choice but to start my own Reputation thread. Please feel free to leave your comments/experiences with me here - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5147811.new#new

I seem to be collateral damage and am enjoying getting my ass dragged through the mud as well. Give me a sec to go through your posts and then I'll help you out over there. Forum politics is pretty bullshit. Think I said that before.

I found this gem so far, not really relevant to your reputation, but it is one of those "ha!" moments.

Just a bit of fun speculation -

What price do you see one bitcoin being valued at in 10 years, take a guess?

I'd be absolutely fucking delighted with $5,000 per bitcoin.
